Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. S05E07 "Together or Not at All" (My Review)

in #marvel6 years ago (edited)

Last episode was amazing and it made us really pumped up to see this one. Let's dive in!!!

For the people who haven't seen it yet just scroll to the bottom to read my "initial thoughts," "conclusion," and after if you don't want any spoilers.

INITIAL THOUGHTS (NO SPOILERS):
This season so far has been amazing taking place in outer space which has never been done in the previous seasons so far. I have to say I'm getting a little bit of Doctor Who vibes from this show with the aliens, sci-fi, and

ANALYZING THIS EPISODE (SPOILERS):

  • I find the conversation between May and Enoch very humorous. Also the part where they get captured feels like they got captured by bandits but in the end we find out the person who saved them was future Robin the girl from that episode Rewind who was sketching pictures who convinced Enoch in the beginning of this season to send the agents into the future. When I saw "Rewind" I knew we were going to see more of that the little girl just not the future version of her. Fans and casual fans like myself really want to see more of her in the next episode. I also feel that we might see more glimpses of the present.
  • The agents trying to survive the horde of Krees was another highlight to this episode. It was a surprise that Deke has returned the guy who gave Daisy position to Kasius which led to her capture.
  • Flint was another highlight. I loved how he got his revenge on that one Kree by using rocks to form as a bullet to pierce his skull. I think he could be another potential Yondu from Guardians of the Galaxy where he uses geokinesis to use a bullet rock to pierce all the Krees just like how Yondu uses his arrow kill everyone.
  • The title of this episode was a fitting title for this episode. We finally see almost all the agents together since they were all separated in the beginning of this season with all the confusion. Seeing the story of how they all got back together in the beginning of season 5 up to this one was quite convincing. Sadly we Flint wanting to take his own path to use his powers and save everyone at the station was very noble as we could see him fighting against Sinara which that I want to see. Also Mack and Yo-Yo wanting to join Flint was another small surprise. Now thing I think about it it could be the three vs Sinara and the rest of the Krees. But the title is a fitting one for this episode unlike "Batman Vs. Superman: Dawn of Justice" didn't make any sense and the title should be "Batman & Superman vs Luthor" or "Batman & Superman: Dawn of Justice" or something like that. Also seeing almost all of them coming together then breaking up into two teams was an interesting part to see.
  • Kree family (Kasius & Faulnak)
This is the part I love most about this episode.
I loved the plot twist backstory and the dialogue the two brothers share.
We learn that Kasius has been exiled by his father I'm getting a little bit of "Avatar: The Last Airbender" feels since Kasius is a little more similar to Zuko. Now that I mentioned it I think Kasius might be on the agents' side since the REAL antagonist could be his dad just like in "The Last Airbender" that the real antagonist is Zuko's dad.
I loved how Kasius backstory has a plot twist where it was thought that Kasius let his two guards die in a war but turns out he ordered Sinara to kill them because they force him to stay in the war. Also the part where he kills Kaulnak was another shocker.

CONCLUSION (NO SPOILERS):
"Together or Not at All" is another amazing episode that is survival action packed and with f*cked up characters (Kree family). As we continue to see the story unfold we have a few surprises in the middle and ending of it. The ending especially as now it makes people want to know what happens next. The character interaction in the Kree family (Kasius & Faulnak) is interesting cause you learn a bit more of their backstory and you get to see how two people who are both cold/arrogant/cruel interact with each other. If I had to compare this episode to something else I would compare it to the video game Metal Gear Solid because of the way how the agents have to play it smart when they are trapped in a place full of Krees. Here is another great way to describe "Together or Not at All." "Together or Not at All" is a mix of elements from Metal Gear Solid and a little bit of Avatar: The Last Airbender. The title of this episode is a fitting title for this episode.

MY GRADE FOR THIS:

+Good Survival Action
+Interesting Complex Characters
+Very Interesting Ending
+Title and story goes well together
