Climbing Up Table Mountain in Cape Town

The absolute highlight of being in Cape Town is the amount of trekking we get to do. The hikes around here are better than anywhere else I've been. The views are also magnificent.
We saw this funny animal on the trail called a Rock Hyrax. Okay, without looking at its Wikipedia page can you guess what animal this little guy is related to?
Table Mountain National Park spreads all over Cape Town (Google). You could summit a different peak every day for months without doing the same one!
There is an endless network of trails to explore and conquer. The trail we did to get up to the top of Table Mountain was via Platteklip Gorge.
The 1000m steady hike up to the top of the gorge was pretty easy going, and the view from the top is unbelievable. At the top there was a marsh land and I ran from one end to the other.
We stayed up here till sunset, and because it’s not safe to go down at night we took the revolving cable car.

one thing i love about Table Mountain after my visit: Fortunately the weather was good enough. There was a long queue to get into the cable but it moved very fast. The view from the top was just amazing. We stayed there for the sun downer. It was too beautiful for words. The cafe on top was a really good idea. The food on the cafe was so delicious and the drinks so warm. It really is a place worth going. Make sure you take your jackets and book online and there will be no tension and you will truly enjoy.
We call that animal a Dassie, it was the first word I spoke when I was a kid lol. Great post man. Hope you're enjoying what SA has to offer!
