Connecting With Others Through Our Human Similarities
As I started to be more vulnerable in public, let me guard down, show my faults, I started to become more liberated in being exactly who I am, without the concern of what others think. I found that people connect and appreciate you more when they see your mistakes while you own it or point it out.
The reason why people do like this is because it reassures them that you are both one in the same. We all mess up our speech when talking to others, have incorrect statements, make mistakes that we knew we shouldn't of had made, and the list can go on for days I am sure. When we see this and the other person owning it, it will confirm that we are not lying to each other, we are being honest, and we are not perfect. This continues to open up and allow both or all parties to let there guard down, open up, be vulnerable, be yourself, and thus creating a super great connection.
This moves us out of the corruption material physical world where you mainly connect with physical, geographic, political, finances, ect. We can all connect with each other in a deep profound way and we should.
Why did I write about this topic? Because I have been reborn again with this awareness and it really does bring me so much closer to others and not bring down or judge there reputation on many other factors.

Totally agree. I think it's good to show and accept we - like everyone - have flaws. By letting your guard down, you are more likely to easily relate to others because it shows them how authentic you are.

Very good advice, thank you. I needed this reminder... I believe most of us do now and then. Being totally honest with one self and others is not always easy though. Especially if one see the world as frightening, but really, the world becomes less frightening with the guard down.
