How do you get better at playing jazz guitar?
Macro and micro practice.

Macro is playing the entire song, learning the vibe and the whole tune.
Micro is fine tuning the first melody, the first phrase, the first two notes.

Go back and forth between these two and you're one step closer to sounding better.

Is it that simple?
Philosophically yes... but doing it? It's hard... but it doesn't have to be complicated.
