Today's blog post is a video lesson, excerpt from a Facebook live video earlier today. Here I share my approach to understand, hear and play Dorian jazz lines for modal jazz compositions like So What, Impressions and more.

Some key points discussed in the video include:
a) Thinking of D Dorian as Dmin7 (D F A C) and Emin (E G B)
b) Creating lines emphasizing the characteristic note, B (6th or 13th)
c) Using fourths to create intervalic jazz lines
