Always Create a Solid Foundation - Real Estate Investing #11

in #investing6 years ago

Hey everyone! It's been a little while since the last real estate update, but things have been moving along really well at both the Brunner Project and the Kingsford Project! I've got a lot of exciting updates to share with all of you, so stay tuned!

We just finished pouring the concrete over at Kingsford. We do this by digging for the foundation and then laying out a steel frame. Once the frame is in place, we start pouring the concrete to fit the mold of the foundation.

As with everything in life, the foundation is the most important part! Trust me, whether you're starting a blog, building a new business or constructing a real estate project - a weak foundation will result in a weak outcome.

We had to reschedule the foundation process 4 times because of the weather here in Chicago a few weeks ago, but the past week has been really good to us, so we were able to finish the foundation today! Tomorrow we will remove the steel frame and I'll also get some cool shots of that as well.

QOTD: I haven't gotten the drone yet, but I've been researching a few different ones. What do you guys think of the DJI Mavic Air? Let me know in the comments!

Thanks for reading! Don't forget to leave your thoughts below and I look forward to seeing you in the comments!

Yes, foundation is as important as the project itself - if not more. That's why in the education system here, the first set of classes is called primary school. Because it's the primary bedrock of the child. I have taught children in both the primary and secondary section and believe me, any child that didn't receive the proper foundation in the primary classes often turn out to take quite a lot of energy - tutoring and mentoring - to be able to stand up to his mate. When starting out on anything, start well.

For the QOTD, honestly I don't really know much about cameras. I have said it here on Steemit that it doesn't matter the camera I used, the photos are always just good enough to scare little children during Halloween. Hahahahaha. That's how bad I suck at everything photography.

I totally agree @lordjames and great example with primary education! Your story makes for great context in this topic!

Hahahaha that's hilarious! I'm just getting into cameras and videography myself and still have a lot of work cut out for me! We'll see how it goes! Do you know anything about using D.live or D.tube? I'm starting to research them more, but figured I'd ask!

Yes, I know about both especially dtube. Dtube of for uploading your videos while Dlive is for life streaming. If you have any particular issue about dtube you can put it forward and we'll go through it together.

I love drones but always break them when I land. Well....... actually I play with them inside and crash into the ceiling. That is what gets the propellers all messed up. It's a major problem to fix. I used super glue.

The other thing is the battery. Oh it drains so much. I can't get two minutes of flight. I don't know much about DJI Mavic but battery is something you should look out for and make sure it is strong. Another thing is there is like vulgar people who use these thing and post strange stuff well that I shouldn't know about. But anyway real good aerial view . Man... don't you wish you could fly?

Yeah I've broken a few drones as well! They're tough to use. The Mavic seems to have some pretty high-tech avoidance systems, so I think I can hopefully not make any deadly mistakes!

Yes! Battery is a huge issue that I've seen people complain about. I actually ordered the drone with the "fly more" package and it comes with 3 batteries so when each one gets low you can pull the drone down and swap them out and recharge. I'm pretty excited about this, hopefully I can get some cool shots for all of you!

Let's hope for better weather for the project to progress. Yep foundation is always the most important. Slow and steady wins the race!

Oh GET A DRONE MAN!! It'll be awesome content for Dlive or something :D

Looking forward for that!

Yes let's hope!!! Exactly and yeah the drone would be amazing! I'm really excited! Got any good drone ideas for dlive? I'm open to suggestions!

foundation is the most important part!

True, that's why i spent my whole holidays on steemit, trying to lay down the foundations for my steemit path :)

Can't help you with the drone... my knowledge is next to 0, the only thing i know is that they are cool and they take some awesome videos of cars and bikes driving on a empty road

Haha I've been doing that as well for the past few months! Gotcha, I figured I'd ask because you never know if someone appears to be some kind of drone expert. I just ordered this Mavic and it should get here this week. It's a new hobby and new skill that seems interesting to me so I figured I'd give it a shot!

Hi @khaleelkazi, I dont have my own drone too, but the most popular youtuber from my country (slovakia) have just that one you're thinking about - dji mavic air ;)
Hope it can helps.. Have a great weekend :)

Hey @liltammy! I'm gonna get it this coming week, should be interesting to see what I can make with it!

I look forward to your first drone shots!
But be careful..The propeller of dron can cut your fingers!
Good luck and have a great week:)
@khaleelkazi

Another fantastic part of the kingdom! I am unfortunately not very up on the best drones but I can't wait for the aerial dtube views of these projects!

Keep building.

So great I posted twice! Fridays......

I'm super excited about the drone and I hope to do more work with dtube and dlive! Thanks for the encouragement!

Great to see your progress!

Solid drone choice. The portability and long flight time make it a winner!

Thanks @sequentialvibe! Yeah it seems to be one of the best drones on the market, at least for the purposes I'm trying to get out of it!

Keep it up! Would love to see the new drone

Keep it up! Would love to see the new drone

I know drone flying is controversial, but they are one of the coolest consumer technologies in history! I can't wait to see your results.

This is not a shameless self promotion...I would like your opinion on an idea I am trying on Steemit. I am like you...once I have a plan I go for it!

Let me know your thoughts and if you have any tips. It struck me that it was a unique piece to the Steem puzzle and I sincerely respect your opinion here! Plus I think it will be a blast!

I totally understand the work it takes to lay the foundation @khaleelkazi. We took three months to get our building in place. It was really difficult to dig because we are on a mountain.

On the other hand my son loves that drone. I know you can put it into good use. It is a great camera to get shots where no man could go. This may be the future of reporting. To many people bought those for some bad purposes.

The foundation is key and yeah I could see how digging on that terrain could be a challenge.

That's great to hear! I'm pretty excited about the drone myself, hoping to get some cool shots with it. I've been practicing some videography/editing skills in my off time as a little hobby, but I'm not too good at it yet. As with everything, it takes time and practice!

Then a new craft for you... the flying cameraman.

Haha yeah it is! we'll have to see how it goes, I'm excited to try to learn a new skill!

Surprisingly this whole project has got me to think about who I am and what I'm doing on Steemit. You are just being yourself and having fun and posting about it and doing pretty well from my point of view. I'm rediscovering that I am not an artist or musician or a poet or writer and even though I enjoy those things I am a teacher and need to just be myself and I think things will launch here.

Owk this is really nice. I am excited to see that the Kingsford project has finally kicked off.

The foundation is really the most important part of the building and care should be taken to get it perfectly done.

From what I see here, I think you guys are making use of the Raft Foundation method which is really great as this would be carrying a big house with a basement and two floors.

We make use of those panels also in our own construction site because we are building houses made up of concrete alone and no bricks so the panels support the concrete walls during concrete filling...will make a post about that soon.

I remember telling you I was handling a renovation project in my home town. Well I have made a post about it and you can check out the post HERE for details. its still in its final phase though. Here is a picture below...

What country are you from @sistem. That is an interesting construction project.

Most definitely. Looks very interesting, I would love to see more information on the project.

thanks for the information, your post is very interesting. can know the experience and also your way in doing kingsford project is very interesting. it will help other workers to take steps in this post

Thanks for reading! Yeah I hope it can inspire more people to get into the real estate biz!

You’ve inspired a lot of people! Keep it up!
