Welcome to my very first installment of The Fresh Five!
@thefreshfive is an account set up by the very excellent, very supportive and extremely welcoming @mikepm74. He'll go through and vote new Steemians to help them get a foot in the door and welcome them to interact with @thefreshfive. I'll then highlight a fresh five to help spread the word and help us all make brand new friends.

@sharebear is only a day old and has already given us the gift of gifs which means @sharebear should get along really well with the Steem community! This Pizza Queen is a total book-worm who lives in a city very much like where I grew up that has the pleasure of 4 seasons in one day. Everyone knows predictability is borzo! Welcome @sharebear, we can't wait to see which bears you share.
@laurascarborough is creative! From Austin, Texas, she pretty much does all the fun things and seems to be super exciting and fun to be around. Ahhh, I can't even write the words to describe how amazing this photo of Laura is:

Great dude! I think there is probably heaps of people that come along, throw down a couple of posts, feel like they kinda got ignored and leave... so I'm definitely keen to help me stay.. the more users, the more powerful the platform, the better the content, the more users. It's super circular.
i got one hella of a post coming in the next two weeks and i could sure use some support from the fresh five

I really do like this platform, but I do remember my first week or so being super discouraged and not sure if it was worth my time, I was actually super close to giving up when @mattclarke found me and pointed me towards #TeamAustralia, and then everything got great.... so I'm hoping this little initiative will ensure others don't go down that same path of discouragement.
Man I hear ya! Even after a year on here I was still discouraged lol. It takes different amounts of time to find your groove but when you find it, even if the rewards are low, it's still great to be here and spending your time with great people.
Great find too with @rikyo as I've been looking for great artists to promote through my new initiative, the Steemit Art Register. His artwork and passion for his craft really fits what this this group is about.

In your Steemit menu, there is 'Replies' which will let you see when people have let comments on either your posts or your comments... which I did on your MegaMan post to let you know about this.
If you want to get super technical, you can be alerted with someone mentions your account. I use @ginabot for this, but it only works though the Discord program... which I have to say, I am totally loving using.

Thanks @kamchore! It was all Mike's idea, and he's done all the hard work... but I am very, very excited to be apart of it. I always enjoy being part of the welcoming committee at parties... and Steem really is one big party.
