Yesterday we had the news that Pittsburgh synagogue shooter, Robert Bowers, had a page at the Social media platform Gab, and today we have news that “Joyent”, Gab’s hosting provider, will be pulling the plug on Gab on Monday morning because of an unspecified “breach of the Joyent Terms of Service”…

Earlier, PayPal cut off contact with the social network, after an avalanche of media reports pointed out that Robert Bowers, who killed 11 people in a Pittsburgh synagogue on Saturday, had a page there. Why such incredibly fast reaction? We can see every day at Facebook much worse things including ISIS recruitment and gruesom murder spectacles… Remember Jihadi John? Did anybody threaten Facebook with unplugging?

Here’s the Answer

Gab is a crowdfunded centralized social media platform that was advertised as “The Home Of Free Speech Online”. You can read their full Manifesto here…

But that is not all — they were suppressed in the earlier attempts to go online:

Gab started with a simple mission: provide a platform for everyone that defends free and legal speech online. We soon learned that gatekeepers could prevent anyone from building and distributing an application, stifling innovation and market opportunity. After realizing this empirically when Gab was rejected from Apple's App Store for “objectionable content”, removed from Google's Play Store for “hate speech”, forced off our hosting provider Microsoft Azure, and threatened by our domain registrar for the same reasons: we knew that we had become a threat to the establishment social networks and that we had to keep building.

A “hate speech” punishment for the whole platform? Somebody would think it is useful to know who is a racist at it. Someone would use Bowers’ message at Gab that “Jews are the children of Satan” to identify possible psychopat and prevent his action. Instead, the action is directed against the platform.

Are they worse than Twitter? Hate speech like this, and worse, is a daily routine there. Remember “Anti-Termite” Louis Farrakhan? Sarah Jeong? They are still on Twitter without any consequences. Or YouTube? Have you ever read the comments on YouTube?

Is that what Bowers said worse than, for example, what Mark Zukerberg said about the users of his social media platform?

The War Has Begun

Reason is, of course, because Gab was not under control of the Deep State. Unacceptable. Psycho killer Robert Bowers, was only a suitable excuse. The real war, war on free speech has openly begun. Gab is an example. But example which will learn future rebels that you can’t have free speech at the centralized platforms. Every centralized platform can be blocked and eliminated from the network. It’s a fact. If you want free speech, you have to learn blockchain programming. You have to learn freedom. You have to learn using Steemit.

It will be interesting to see the consequences and measures against the creators of this social media platform. That also will be an important guideline for the future designers of a new, blockchain free speech platforms. Satoshi Nakamoto does not hide his identity for no reason.
