Good evening and welcome

Smiles.....ok dear

Goodevening and welcome to Open Talk. Hope your day was fine. Today we will be looking back at somethings that happened in our lives. So here is the question we are asking:

What was your biggest life regret? What did you learn from it?

My biggest life regret was trusting in someone and I got disappointed along the line.
I've learnt not to put my trust on any man, but on God.

Really, am sorry about that. A sad experience. But has that affected how you look at people generally? Is everyone a suspect?

Yes to an extent.

What % of trust can you give me so far we have known?

My biggest life regret is powering down my steem unnecessarily about 600 steem.
The most bitter aspect is that I powered down when steem was below 100#
Choiii... E pain me no be small

Goodevening and welcome to the talk. Its really painful to do such a thing. Right now, steem is almost 3 times the price. But were you able to achieve your goal of powering down?

Nawaooo..... I don really know if there will be any achievement doing that, I regret doing it.
It's just a lost of money.
I lost about 180000#

Waooh thats a terrible amount of money to throw away. Do you think you learnt anything from that poor decision-making?

I really learned not to be hasty in decision making, I need to take my time.
To be concise and content with what I have.

Waooh. Big lesson there. Where do you see steem in the next few years - say 2 year? What are your plans to replace the money you powered down?

My biggest life regret was when I bought 1 ETH at the rate of N48k, and sold it at 100k thinking that was it highest peak.

I didn't know it will rise beyond expectation like this.

Now 1 ETH is almost a Million naira

I still regret that till date😥😢

You should have been with big money now. So why did you sell it? Was there an emergency?

Have seen double of my money so I thought it will drop again so I can rebuy it.

But I was totally wrong

It never happened. So what do you tell newbies in this cryptocurrency business. For example if price dropped very well?

My advice for the newbies is to invest in steem cause am seeing what I didn't saw in ETH.

So I won't make that mistake again

You may really not regret it because at that moment, that was the highest rate... Tis all about taking risk.

Chaiii..... This is really painful o
Please how did you cope with this trauma, do you still have any eutheriums?

It by gone.
I learnt my lesson.

I bought Tron and am holding till it reach $1 hopefully

You should have been patient. Well, it's a lesson to you now, and next time, you won't repeat that mistake

Yeah.

I won't let steem pass me by oo

😂😂😂😂😂
My brother no too reason am o
At that time that 100k had a profit of about 52k so u still made it
Think about it what if 1ETH had dropped to 20k? That would have been more painful

Yes oo..

I thought I have seen double of my capital so selling was the least thing I could do.

I was extremely happy when I sold it self 😁😁

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂

Sure. He made profit. But he could have made more. Will you do the same thing if you are in that situation?

At that time yes i would have sold it, a friend of mine sold at 85k
Him here he is lucky
The truth is no one knows tomorrow
Like now sef i have 99 trx and e get how hungry go catch me i go sell am o😂😂😂
Na who chop belleful dey save for future

Lol

Am still holding my Tron, till we push am enter $1 even if nah 5 years I go hold

😂😂😂😂

I can feel your pain 😁

Ouchhhhh
That must hurt badly damnnn

Yeah.
It really hurt
Whenever I login to my Binance and I saw ETH price I remember the past

Well, life is all about taking risk @mato445, but calculated risk is better. Still good that you still made over 100% profit😊

Anytime i think of regrets, i remember my grandma and regret the fact that i didnt have so much time to spend with her when she was still alive. As a young girl then, i thought she will be with me forever, but i was very wrong....she left me and i regret not spending all my holidays with her. From this, i learnt that no matter what happens, i must always have time to spend with people i love because they wont be here forever...im doing that already

 3 years ago (edited)

Powering lesson there @sovega, your grandma muct be a lovable person to be with wasnt she?

She was very very lovable and we were actually very close, but far away from each other

What was the quality you appreciate most in her. I know there could be many,

My grandma was very lucrative, hardworking and talented. She always advised me and encouraged me to be a better version of myself. My mom is an exact replica of her and I'll love to follow their trail

She stayed in the east, while i was born and brought up in the north

Oh, it was not entirely your fault. Distance can be a huge barrier, isnt it? But, could your parents or guardians agreed to have taken you there?

Exactly my regret. She lived with us and I wasn't really attending to her

So sad. Now she is gone. Am sorry. But the lessons will help you become a great person.

True sir. I'm a better person now

This is very true sir

Mine never lived with us😔

Wow thank you @focusnow for this wonderful question.

Good evening steemians. My biggest regret is not acknowledging and giving her much attention someone when she was still living. I learnt that the little time you have to spend with someone, shower love on that person because you don't know if that person will still be living the next minute

Who was the person @beewrites. A close friend or family member?

My grandma. She lived with us for close to a decade and we weren't really getting along. She died 2017 and Im missing her

Good evening sir,.. thanks for the welcoming..
My day went well..
Answer to your question,. My biggest life regret is too trust someone who isn't in this line with me..
And I learnt that, in life we move with people who have same dream and goals.. so I decided to move with people I learn from , people who will not be scared to tell me my wrongs and correct me.

Its really a bad experience to build trust in someone that does not care. About someone being brave to correct you when you are wrong, I discovered that many friends are scared to tell someone they are wrong. Why is it mostly the case?

Because they fear loosing that friendship.
But I think, only good friends will bravely approach you to tell you, you're wrong.
But fake friends will always laugh behind you

This is a big point. A great friend wants you to improve in life, isnt it? But I wondered how best to tell a friend to improve in some things. Like if the person has body odour? How can we approach that problem

If a friend has body odour politely buy deodorants and gift that person, tell him/ her the effectiveness of using them.. it will help

I think the peronism can be approached by first showing love to the person by buying good and lasting body deodorants and then using style to tell the person how nice he or she smells whenever he/she wears the deodorant

I got to find out that, they don't tell u the truth because of the benefits they get from you.. but someone is way bigger than you who in return doesn't need anything from you example material things and financially they are ok, they be able to guide you and correct you when you're wrong, because there's nothing to loose..

@isiben Real friends are actually rare. When you find one, you'll definitely know cause they wouldn't mind if there is anything to lose. Their focus is adding values to the other person which also includes constructive criticism.

I remember a quote"Better lose a friendship than lose a friend".
Meaning If telling you the truth would cost me our friendship,it is better than to cost me a friend's life. Later in life, the friend will realize.

Better have one sincere real friend than a thousand for-the-moment friends.

Thanks alot. You are so right

Hmmm, tis a big load carrying people that drag you back.
Good that u've identify that attitude

Good evening @focusnow. I have made series of mistakesyin my life and I hate regretting things , I don't look for anybody to blame ,I take responsibility for every of my actions , because bo that ,j don't keep such things in mind. But recently I regretted something after I joined steemit. I regret not buying steem and powering up when steem was still #67. Till now I still feel bad about it, because I remember when you use to urge me to buy. But it's fine, I have decided to work harder on steemit,to cover up for my mistake of not buying steem.

Thank you

I think powering down my steem when i did was a regret but not a biggest life regret

Hi @dlioness,

Aww.....Only God sees the future.

Nobody knew that STEEM could go so high within that space time.

I dey tells you my dear, it amazed me but we moveeee..

So which one was the biggest regret so far? What happened?

 3 years ago (edited)

My biggest life regret is not doing the things i was meant to do in time probably during my early youthful age or as a teenage girl,i regret not acquiring the knowlegde i have now before now because if i have done that i would have been a decent and gentle rich girl....winks.....

And from that i learnt that its good to be exposed to useful kbowlegde and aspire for greatness in time before challenges would force you to do so and then it becomes a neccesity,

With this knowlegde i have now ,i will have to correct my mistakes on my children , they wouldnt fall victim of my kind of ignorance

Decent and rich. Amazing. But you seen not to be an old person. Do you think you can acquire those life goals?

Very well sir, but a stitch in time saves nine if im not mistaken , i would have gone far now

Trust has always been like a river to swim, it hurt more when it comes from people i have high regards for. In the end i learn to be careful with everyone.

My biggest life regret was not having money to settle some stuffs that needed to be settled urgently in my life and those things got delayed because there was no money but I've made a vow that i must be wealthy in this life.
What I learnt was that i should be of help to people whenever they need help

My biggest regret even till now is not having enough time to write and make post due to my job.

Its painful, watching steem rise but have nothing either to power up with.

And my former employer made things difficult that up till now he has not paid me. I regret working there.

But thank God I found another job, but no time for myself. We close 4:30pm. Before i could meet up with my personal needs, the bed is already beckoning on me to come. 😂😂😂😂😂😂

Dont worry dear

With time everything will normalize

Just plan out specific timings in a schedule or something ...will that help?

What do you think about 9-5 jobs generally? Is it nice for someone that want to pursue a career of creativity, such as content creator?

Waooh. You have such a terrible schedule. I wish you could have more time for yourself. Please I want to ask you a question: Do you think your current job should be a long-term career? What are your future plans to change this situation. I learnt that time is precious

Indeed I have plans, and I don't intend staying on this job more than this year or less. I love writing, and it's what gives me joy. So am making plans on how to redeemed my time within a short period of time.

You can always try and make time, it's not easy I know, but we make time for things that matter to us.

Yes I do make time, buti hardly make two post in a week. Most times I report for lead just once due to the stress. I will have to be in school by 7:20. My dear, it's not funny here I tell you.

Thanks for your encouragement

I am planning to publish one of my writing soon and then establish a writing class, where I will train younger ones on the need to read and write, beyond the walls of the academic I stitutions

Wow, @exceptional20 your schedule is really tight. I understand that feeling being there but not experiencing what's happening.

I tell you my sister

Bro i work 6 to 6 and i can understand u

My dear, yours is 12 hours too
It is well brother

God no go shame us

Good evening friends

Welcome sir. What is you biggest life regret sir?

Hi @focusnow
Well........My biggest regret is using my NYSC account to register for a govt social program and they stopped paying me on the way, thinking that i was still getting NYSC stipend...E pain me eeh as e happen during the last year pandemic.

What I learnt from it is that I should ALWAYS be careful in whatever I do.

This was really painful sir. Am sorry about that. How much did you loose in the process?

@focusnow I lost 150,000 in the process.

It's annoying.So annoying.

I won't call it biggest regret.
When you leave some people to move with some people but you discover that you are not wanted after losing the previous group of people, it is a lesson learnt in a hard way.

Hmmmmm, I think I understand you completely, the wrongest place to find yourself is in the midst of people you don't value you. Relationships are important and worth keeping when you are with the right people.

Hmmm
U r there 👍👍👍👍

Wow!!!

Well it a long story though.
In 2012, when I was working in a custard factory, a friend of mine told me about Bitcoin back then Bitcoin price was around $16 cause he showed me the chart. He told me to buy 50k own and keep it, I thought he wanted to scammed me.
And back then to see 50k man will have to hustle hard. The 50k was my 5 month salary.
So I was like how will I take my 5 month salary and go and buy Bitcoin what if it was a scam.

Today 1 BTC is around 28 million.
My friend bought it back then and he is out of this country, I lost his contact.

That was my biggest regret till date.
I wish I can go back in time

@pocoloco01, this regret is a very hard one. It's is so painful. You cannot recover from this for a very long time. But I think you have another opportunity in steemit now.

Yeah

I fell sick for almost 2 month before I could recover from the issue.

That was why I power up with almost 200k on Steem.

I won't make that silly mistake again

Well its not as bad as the guy who order pizza for 10,000 bitcoin
Cheer up

I heard that story also.
But I guess I wasn't lucky or let me say my ignorance killed me

Lol
Well
U can buy other cryptos now na
And wait

Yeah

I invested in steem I won't make that same mistake again

Same with my in-laws, although he was myopic about it when he was introduced to it back then.

But don't worry, I see steem rising very soon just the way Bitcoin is it

Am not sure I would love to see myself in this position,it will really distabilize me for a long time. But it wasn't really your fault though, since you were not really earning much as at that time, I know you would have done better if it was now

Like seriously.
That my friend is out of this country and am sure he is living a lavish life.
Cause I remember he borrowed money also to invest in Bitcoin.

My ignorance killed me

Bitcoin is more than 40 m naira now

OMG

You made a huge mistake.

Well I didn't blame you though.
I wish I had known crypto since 2012 I would have seize that opportunity.
Well we move

Good evening boss @focusnow, it's another fantastic moment here tonight

Welcome. what was your biggest life regret?

Good evening @focusnow
I'm a tad bit late, I just finished an online class.
Speaking about biggest regret... I can't point to any because in life people have had lots of regrets and so have I. However, I'll not fail to tell about one of my regret.
I skipped class on purpose and the lecturer awarded mark. I didn't get a distinction because he awarded 10marks. It was painful.

10 marks? Waooh that is small but mighty. Am sorry

Thank you sir

Oooohhh its a pity,i encountered that too but its not really my biggest regret

I'm sure most Nigeria students have 😂😂😂

Wow!
10 marks is a lot to turn 30 score of a student to 40, giving him D rather than F.

It's quite painful but it was a lesson to learn in a hard way though, not to skip class on purpose.

Ohh I learnt the hard way😞

Bad association
"People are like sponges, they tend to absorb everything thing around them", that was the simple truth that I ignored. I was raised up by a godly parents who inculcated good morals in my life. they set standards for me as their child .
Most times I viewed them as being too strict, and to be my parents are dictators. The more I grow up, the more freedom I gained from my parents. With that I felt I've been relieved from bondage.
I started mingling with my peers and gradually embracing their lifestyle. Most of them are wayward, and views double life as the best way of living.
I disgust their lifestyle but I want to fit in, so I continue associating with them. I keep telling myself that they can't change me. But to my surprise I was drifting away and adopting their lifestyle. I finally got into trouble, but they all abandoned me and I was left to bear the consequences of my action.
Oh how I wish I never give in to their pressure .
Lessons learnt: he that is walking with the wise person will become wise, but he that is working with the stupid will fare badly

Bad company corrupt good manners the Holy scriptures said so.

The society has a way they view life, butmoral lifestyle pays. Although not easy tolive a moral life in a society where immorality is celebrated. But God will help us

Amen!! With him by our side we keep thriving, surviving in a crooked and twisted generation
