"Auntie!" Elliot greeted as they approached
This was the first time Elliot was seeing Joan in ten years. He still recalled the last time he saw her.
It was at the Roosevelts Manor. She had her black mourning gown on and her eyes was swollen from crying too much.
That was the day he realized that the old lady of the Roosevelt had adopted him as a replacement for her late son.
So much had changed in the woman before him. It almost felt like the passing time had specifically flowed for her.
The woman from before despite looking pale and depressed still had the appearance and aura of a young lady from a wealthy family. But now, she had more wrinkles and her eyes looked much more weary.
With just a few years, she was no longer the beautiful young mistress of the Roosevelts but there was still one thing that hadn't changed. They cold look in her eyes when she stared at him was still there.
"Auntie" he greeted again
But no sooner were the words out of his mouth than she left.
"Mom must be tired" Eliora said quickly to savage the situation
"Hmmmn" he nodded but he knew better

"Mom" Eliora called out as she walked into the house
"Don't forget what you are there for! They are not your friends" Joan heaved and walked away
She had seen more than enough in the Roosevelts family to ever trust any of them again. How their smiles turn to claws and warmth to outright coldness, she could never forget. No matter how badly she wanted to.

At exactly 11 O'clock the news of the death of Aiden Winthrop was officially released by the Winthrop Corporation and confirmed by various family members and close acquaintances.
This had erupted a lot of buzz in both the business world and the entertainment industry. It shook the entire country besides Aiden was no simple fellow to begin with.
He was the CEO of the Winthrop Cooperation, one of the biggest conglomerate in the south. He had become very popular amongst internet users since he took up the company affairs basically because of his tremendous achievements and dazzling appearance.
Since then, his fame and influence had skyrocketed immeasurably, both within and outside the country. A maker of plutocrats, some said. With this it was impossible for the news of his death not to cause chaos.
If not for an unexpected call from Gretchen, Eliora would have still been unaware of this news. She wasn't going to give that fellow the pleasure of winning.
"I really don't know who to call. My mom and Bridget will think I'm just making a fuss" Gretchen's feeble voice rang out
Her voice was weak and hoarse because she had been crying. It seemed nothing like her very lively self from the morning.
"I don't know what to do! I don't think I can live anymore. I just can believe it" she burst into tears once again
"Oh!" Eliora didn't know what to say to the little woman
"Hopefully, the perpetrators will be punished?" She coed
"Yes! That Evil Dr Lawrence. I hope he dies and all his generation be cursed" Gretchen swore
"Evil Dr Lawrence?" She muttered a little flustered
Wasn't it a nurse who injected Strychnine into the patient? She was even with Lawrence when it happened. How was he the perpetrator now? Or was this still part of their plan?
Then why was she unaware of it.
How does this have to do with Lawrence?
