Episode two... Accident

Gia was already expecting Aiden. She was already in the living room when he and secretary Zhou.

"Mr Winthrop" she smiled and walked over in her lingerie

Despite the popularity of their two months relationship in the eyes of the public and on various social media platforms but in reality there were more distant than strangers.

She knew the previous day was their last day as a couple and just as Aiden did to all his previous partners, he was going to break up with her, take two weeks whatever, solitary period and then date someone else.

She was very much aware of this seeming fate. It was something that was efficiently explained to her three months prior by the old secretary Zhou.

"Ms Lowell, Mr Winthrop dropped by because your seem to have delayed your official statement that was to be realised yesterday, correct" Ms Zhou smirked

There were certain times like this were she recalls how enjoyable her job could be.

"Oh! The two months time period is already over. It totally slipped my mind" she smiled

She fumed greatly in her heart. How could she just let it all end now. Her identity as the potential Mrs Winthrop had paved so much opportunities for her and her family. Their status and business had improved tremendously.

She couldn't just loose it all overnight. Staring at this perfect man in front of her didn't make the decision any easier.

"Mr Winthrop" she sniffed as a tear escaped her eyes

She didn't have to fake it, she was genuinely hurt. She hoped he would be touched even a little bit.

"Send it to out before dusk" he ordered and glanced at Secretary Zhou

"Wrap it up before tomorrow" he ordered and headed out

Secretary Zhou nodded with a pleased smile, Mr Winthrop had to show up himself because apparently Gia was too cocky to concur to Ms Zhou's demand.

All this ambitious ladies! Give them an inch and they'll take a whole mile.

...

Eliora didn't meant to eavesdrop but most of the conversation happened quite close to the door and it wasn't like they were whispering.

She stood in front of the door as Aiden walked out with secretary Zhou behind. From afar she hadn't recognised him, she could only tell he was wealthy but as he walked back it suddenly clicked.

He was Aiden Winthrop, one of those wealthy business men that the TV station loved showing their faces more than actually reporting news. It was hard to not know him in this town.

As they walked out a girl in tears came running after them but she stopped halfway as though she didn't dare go any further.

"Mr Winthrop, I...I...I..." Gia didn't know what to say

What could she really offer? There was nothing she had that he lacked. He had everything. She was actually the one who needed him.

"Ma'am, you delivery" Eliora went after her

She could already tell what was going on. She recognised the lady as His fiancee, Gia Lowells

The car drove past almost scratching Eliora.

"Punk! At such speed, you will eventually crash and die" she swore

Gia wiped the tears from her eyes and bit her lips tight until she could taste her blood. Her chest heaved up and down. The pain in her hurt was just too much to contain.

"Ma'am... your... delivery?" Eliora stuttered

It was definitely not the best of time to say that.

"Ahhhhh! You must think I am pathetic cause I got dumped. So what? I still better than a low life like you so don't you dare gloat. I am Gia Lowells, even in my worst state I'm still better than you, all of you" she stormed

Definitely not perfect timing, Eliora thought. Dropping the package in front of her doorstep, she left. The rest did not necessarily concern her.

...

On way back, there was a commotion. The road was clustered with the securities, reporters and also passers-by. It seemed like there was an accident and whoever was involved was no small figure.

Going closer, she sighted the same car she had seen at Superior hills, the Devel Sixteen.

"Hah! Young people just keep dying this days. That don't ever follow the rules, that driver was bleeding almost to death before he was rushed to the hospital. At least the lady survived"

She overheard a fellow road user say.

That rich kid from just know bled to death?

Recurring the statement she had said before the car drove off earlier, guilt suddenly poured in.

~'Punk! At such speed, you will eventually crash and die'~

Didn't she just curse someone to death with her words?
