FLASHBACK OF QUARANTINE DIARIES| Steem Sri Lanka: Contest Series – Week 03 | Announcement of Winners

Third contest of the weekly contest series which is organized by Sri Lankan steemians through Steem Sri Lanka Community successfully came to an end last Saturday and new contest which is conducted by @praveenw96 is ongoing until this Saturday.

So, this is the time to announce winners of the third week’s contest FLASHBACK OF QUARANTINE DIARIES.

There were 10 posts for the contest and each of them were very well written with a great commitment and effort. There were participants from India, Turkey, Venezuela and of course from Sri Lanka. As this is my first ever contest organizing, I am very happy for your great responses.

It was very hard to select winners among these 10 entries. So, I consider content, relevance of the content, photographs, and creativeness of the posts. Apart of that, I had to select posts with overall covering up of the quarantine period as name implies : FLASHBACK of quarantine diaries.

Finally, I selected following as the winners.

FIRST PLACE

From Social Beings to ALIENS. by @drqamu

my mom still used to come and stay at door of my room and say ; FOR SOCIAL DISTANCING, 3 FEET DISTANCE IS REQUIRED AND I AM SITTING AT 10 FEET DISTANCE. It used to melt me down and make prayers to GOD for long life of my parents. So covid forcefully turned me into an ALIEN from a very social being.

SECOND PLACE

Quarantine with hobbies and new knowledge by @rasinkani

I look baking and decorating all the time. But I’m not really good at cooking. This time I got better with the help of my mom. Learnt some secrets from her. I have tried different kinds of rice and curry recipes and also chili chicken submarine, Egg rolls.

THIRD PLACE

Hard work paid off by @damithudaya

As raining wasn't frequent those days, I arranged a pipeline from our well. It's a sprinkler system, through electric mortar, just have to control through valves. Boy! the output came at a price, I had to bath several times with loosing of connection. But that was a great experience.

FOURTH PLACE

MY QURANTINE STORY by @madhumunasinghe

Everyone was encouraged to grow in their garden as we may have a shortage of foods because of the panadamic.We started to grow some vegetables in our small home garden and was able to take the harvest.It was quite enjoyable.

As there were many interesting articles, I selected other two articles and hope to send 2 STEEM per one article.

Our ties with the children have strengthened. For example, the speech of my 3-year-old daughter was fluent. Because we talked more and I was more interested. We saw the beautiful sides of being at home.

Hostel Food Cook ups by @pusidu

Spending Quarantine in a foreign country thousands of miles away from home is quite challenging than you think. The worst part is missing the delicious food prepared by your mother and your family members brag about it while calling home.
The main problem with all our friends who were stuck with me in India was the food.

Everyone of you who took part in the contest, have tried your best with your entries and there were very impressive. But, I had to select above entries as the winning entries. Do not get disappointed, try this week's contest.
