Steem Sri Lanka Contest Series Round 1 : Retrospective
I guess most of you aware of the weekly Contest Series hosted by members of Sri Lanka. The main objective is to give the chance to everyone to conduct a contest and to bring out the hidden talents of our Sri Lankan members. At the start, we asked all Sri Lankan members to join the contest series as a host. Then we started our October 17, 2020. So, after the completion of successful 6 weeks, round one was officially ended today.
So let's take a small glance at our journey!
What are the benefits we had?
Basically we could famous our community Steem Sri Lnaka around the world. The engagement in the community was rapidly growing in the last few weeks.
Our members got the chance to host a contest (most of them for the first time).
We could get to know outstanding steemians around the world as this provides a great platform to share their ideas.
What happened in Round 01?
As mentioned we had 6 contests. Here is the list.
All the contests were completed successfully without any problem what so ever.
What about the engagement?
When we started this contest series we had few entries only from Sri Lankan members. But then we could successfully promote our contest series and increase the engagement regardless of the boundaries. You can see the improvement of the engagement for every week as below.
There were entries from Sri Lanka, India, Pakistan, Bangladesh, Venezuela, Nigeria, Japan, Turkey, Poland, Ghana.
Distribution of Prices
Mainly we have allocated prizes for each contest as below.
2nd prize -8 STEEM
3rd prize - 4 STEEM
4th prize- 2 STEEM
In week 05 we distributed prizes for all the participants too.
Totally we have distributed 109 steem for so far and more to come from week 06.

What's next?
From round 2 of our contest series, we will try to bring you in a different way. Here, we are trying to do some new experiments about contests. What kind of tools we can use with doing contests, what are the new dimensions we can use, out of box contests are some of them.
