Reflection

The prophet Jeremiah was going through a personal crisis, it is not easy to be a prophet, telling the truth is not always well received, because when people are questioned by the truth they become uncomfortable and react by rejecting the messenger, sometimes attacking him, sometimes ignoring him, and in the best of cases, thanking you. The prophet fights within himself and says to himself - What to do? Silence the truth that God puts in my heart so as not to bother anyone but to fail Him? Or, Telling the truth while making it uncomfortable and receiving the rejection of many but pleasing the Lord? - Without a doubt it is a difficult position that demands courage and great sacrifices, this constant push inside the prophet afflicts him but does not discourage him completely, for he finds in the Word of the Lord, comfort, sustenance of life, strength, joy and happiness to carry on with the arduous task of bringing the truth to the hearts of men. You and I have been in this situation many times in life, and for fear of being rejected by the other or others, many times we keep quiet about what we know is wrong and it makes us uncomfortable; gossip, lies, mistreatment of the poor, social injustice, corrupt rulers, etc ... If God has put the truth in your heart, it is to be told, it not only frees those who shout it, but also those who He listens to her, of course, if he does not reject her. Let's tell the truth without shame, if it makes you feel "out of place", rejected or disconcerted, cheer up! When Martin Luther King fought for the conquest of the civil rights of African Americans, he did so with the truth, and although he was attacked and rejected by many, the truth won out and those who saw him as "wrong" ended up agreeing with him. The truth will change the world, let us be carriers of the truth and change the world, only through it will the kingdom of God be possible among men. The truth is a Man and his name is Jesus Christ, He is the Incarnate Word, His word is joy and happiness for the soul and a source of holiness, in His word is the truth that we need to understand and share to make the world a better place, let's do it without fear and without fear of being rejected, trusting fully in God.

Reflexión

El profeta Jeremías se encontraba pasando por una crisis personal, no es sencillo ser profeta, decir la verdad no siempre es bien recibido, porque cuando la gente es interpelada por la verdad se incomoda y reacciona rechazando al mensajero, a veces agrediéndolo, otras ignorándolo, y en el mejor de los casos, agradeciéndole. El profeta lucha en su interior y se dice --¿Qué hacer? ¿Callar la verdad que Dios pone en mi corazón para no incomodar a nadie pero fallarle a Él? o, ¿Decir la verdad incomodando y recibiendo el rechazo de muchos pero agradando al Señor?-- Sin duda es una posición difícil que exige valor y grandes sacrificios, esta puja constante en el interior del profeta lo aflige pero no le desanima por completo, pues él encuentra en la Palabra del Señor, consuelo, sustento de vida, fuerzas, gozo y felicidad para seguir adelante con la ardua tarea de llevar la verdad a los corazones de los hombres. Tu y yo hemos estado en esta situación muchas veces en la vida, y por temor a ser rechazados por el otro o los otros, muchas veces callamos aquello que sabemos está mal y nos incomoda; el chismorreo, la mentira, el maltrato a los pobres, la injusticia social, gobernantes corruptos, etc... Si Dios ha puesto la verdad en tu corazón es para que sea dicha, ella no sólo libera a quien la vocifera, también a quien la escucha, claro, sí este no la rechaza. Digamos la verdad sin pena, si esta te hace sentir "fuera de lugar", rechazado o desencajado ¡ánimo! cuando Martin Luther King luchó por la conquista de los derechos civiles de los afroamericanos, lo hizo con la verdad, y aunque fue atacado y rechazado por muchos, la verdad venció y quienes le veían como "equivocado" terminaron dándole la razón. La verdad cambiará el mundo, seamos portadores de la verdad y cambiemos el mundo, sólo a través de ella el reino de Dios será posible entre los hombres. La verdad es un Hombre y se llama Jesucristo, Él es el Verbo encarnado, Su palabra es gozo y alegría para el alma y fuente de santidad, en Su palabra está la verdad que necesitamos comprender y compartir para hacer del mundo un lugar mejor, hagámoslo sin miedo y sin temor a ser rechazados, confiando plenamente en Dios.
