Pray at all times as the Spirit in spires you. Keep watch, together with sustained prayer and supplication for all the holy ones.

Reflection

The community of Ephesus was a peaceful and quiet community so their faith in Jesus Christ had not yet passed through the crucible of testing. In this verse Paul invites the Ephesians to cultivate prayer, to persevere in it without losing heart. As they do not have major difficulties, he will suggest that they pray for the saints, for their brothers, so that, through prayer, they can exercise and strengthen the muscle of faith so that, when the moments of trial come, they can resist and overcome in Christ Jesus. Sincere prayer is the nourishment and strength of the Christian because through it we establish a loving dialogue with God, a dialogue of life and hope. Prayer must always be present in our lives, during peace and during war, in joy and sadness, if we are capable of being faithful to God in little things, we will surely be faithful in much, if we pray when there is few difficulties, with all the more reason we will pray when these are many, because our muscle of faith would have been strengthened in times of peace making it capable of withstanding the harsh tests of "war", of difficulties.

Vivan orando y suplicando. Oren en todo tiempo según les inspire el Espíritu. Velen en común y perseveren en sus oraciones sin desanimarse nunca, intercediendo en favor de todos los santos, sus hermanos.

Reflexión

La comunidad de Efeso era una comunidad pacífica y tranquila por lo que su fe en Cristo Jesús todavía no había pasado por el crisol de la prueba. En este versículo Pablo invita a los efesios a cultivar la oración, a perseverar en ella sin desanimarse. Como no tienen mayores dificultades, les sugerirá orar por los santos, por sus hermanos, de manera que, a través de la oración, puedan ejercitar y fortalecer el músculo de la fe para que, cuando lleguen los momentos de prueba, puedan resistir y vencer en Cristo Jesús. La oración sincera es alimento y fortaleza del cristiano pues a través ella entablamos un dialogo amoroso con Dios, un dialogo de vida y de esperanza. La oración debe estar siempre presente en nuestras vidas, durante la paz y durante la guerra, en la alegría y en la tristeza, sí somos capaces de ser fieles a Dios en lo poco, con seguridad lo seremos en lo mucho, sí oramos cuando hay pocas dificultades, con más razón oraremos cuando estas sean muchas, pues nuestro musculo de la fe se habría fortalecido en los tiempos de paz haciéndose capaz de resistir las duras pruebas de la "guerra", de las dificultades.
