Drugs Used to Treat High Blood Pressure Can Block the Spread of Cancer
As per the recent findings published in Journal of Nature Communicatios calcium channel blockers which are currently used to treat hypertension(high blood pressure), can be used in blocking cancer cell metastases. This has not been reported previously.
It was discovered that calcium channel blockers can efficiently stop cancer cell invasion in vitro. The identification of anti-hypertension drugs as potential therapeutics against breast and pancreatic cancer metastasis has come as a big surprise for researchers.
The team involved in this study has identified that aggressively spreading cancer cells express a protein called Myosin-10( Myosin-10 also known as myosin heavy chain 10 or non-muscle myosin IIB is a protein that in humans is encoded by the MYH10 gene) which drive cancer cell motility. (motility is the ability to move spontaneously and actively, consuming energy in the process)
Myosin-10 expressing cancers have a large number of structures called filopodia. Filopodia are sticky finger like structures, the cancer cells extend to sense their environment and to navigate. Calcium channel blockers target these sticky fingers like structures specifically, rendering them inactive, thus efficiently blocking cancer cell movement.

I've been on BP medication for years. That's good to hear.
The problem I have is that they make me sleepy. They're worse than sleeping pills.
Are they Calcium Channel blockers? My Dad had the same issue with them. Had to stop eventually now he's on Spironalactone which has it's own problems - he has to be on a low potassium diet.

What Are you suffering from high BP Or low Bp?
Most of the modern medicines have the same problem i.e. they cause drowsiness. You need to first know whether you have low BP Or high BP. The symptoms of both are quite distinctive for example if you have low BP you will frequently feel giddiness in case of high BP an increase in palpitation is most prominent.

To me this study is very much valid as I can tell you that I never came across someone who was suffering simultaneously with high BP as well as Cancer at the same time.
That's anecdotal evidence though which doesn't really mean much unless you work in a blood pressure clinic and see a vast swathe of the population with hypertension - even then it is low level evidence.
Science is dynamic and ever developing field you need to be open minded to accept new findings. I am giving you two real life examples below.
