Game Review: Forza 7 Review - More Cars than Ever!

How well this formula works was already noticeable in the previous parts and especially Forza Motorsport 6 . With this part in mind, expectations for Forza 7 are high.

Little innovation

Having said that, Forza 7 is not the most innovative game that Turn 10 has delivered. There are more cars than ever to choose from; At the launch there are about 700 bolides available. There is a wide variety in the fleet. For example, you can choose from "regular" street cars to Formulas and GTs.

In addition to the extensive selection of cars, there are certainly enough circuits to choose from. In total there are 32 environments in the game, which by the multiple variants brings the total to 200 circuits. By comparison: In Forza 6 there were 26 environments with corresponding variants.

What's regrettable is that only one completely new environment has been added: the circuit in Dubai. The other circuits have already been over in former Forza's. For veterans in the series, the lack of new circuits will surely come true. Nevertheless, the many circuits at least provide enough variety in the races.

Forza Driver's Cup

The famous career mode has got a makeover in Forza 7. This is now called the Forza Driver's Cup. In this you will have to go through six different championships before you can keep the biggest trophy at your fingertips.

The construction of the various championships has changed little. In the first few classes you will take part in one of the many hatchbacks, coupés and SUVs that know the game. Winning races allows you to buy new cars, and you are increasingly playing new championships, taking you into faster and faster cars. The idea behind the career is the same, but the finish and feel of progression is better present in the form of a cupboard and rewards.

The races in career mode are often short, but Turn 10 also has a look at that. You can now choose a rack length yourself. There is a choice of standard, long and extra long. In this way, you can greatly increase the running time of the Driver's Cup, as extra long races soon start to run on 45-minute rounds.

Flamingo look

As we are used to in Forza games, you get a reward after raising in level. Unlike the Prize Spins from Forza 6, you have the choice of the reward you receive. You can choose from in-game credits, discount on a car or a free outfit after each level.

With the outfits you can choose what suit your driver is wearing. There are more than 100 of these outfits available. This way you can go for a striking Flamingo look, or just for a cool outfit by Ken Block rally champion. You can not buy these outfits with Credits, but only unlock or get out of a prize box.

Collect and gamble

With the price lists, you can buy different coffins with Credits with Credits. In addition to the above-mentioned outfits, you also have the opportunity to get mods. We know these from Forza 6 and provide additional Credits, or have other actions to make your race easier / more difficult.

Lastly, you can also get cars at the price lists. With each car you collect, your collection level increases. At a higher collection level, more rare cars are available. You also get better rewards after rising in level.

The price lists do not feel forced at all and give a chance to get a rare car fast in the game. Whoever does not pay Credits here is not obliged to use it at all. All cars are bought or released after the required collection level is reached.

Bounce in varying conditions

What matters when you take a car with the circuit is that the game looks beautiful. The cars are more detailed than ever and more than ever, you feel like being in the car. Forza 7 has been chosen for a more dynamic camera, which makes you feel almost any dirt in the circuit. This feature can be turned off if all that sounds is too much of the good, but for the immersion it is a welcome improvement.

Finally, dynamic weather has been added. During a rainstorm, you notice that the job is getting more and more blurred. This feature is again unavailable for all circuits, as well as the ability to breed at night. Nevertheless, it is a step in the right direction, and hopefully Forza 8 will be able to fall in all directions.

The action model of the cars seems to be more arcade this time than ever. The game is more forgiving if you make a mistake and even with the assistants you still have easy control over your car. This distinguishes Forza 7 from his immediate competitor Project CARS 2 , which is a real simulator. For the more casual players, the game is more accessible than the other racing games.

Customize to your liking

Is Forza 7 so too easy, you may wonder? Well no, that is certainly not the case. You can make it as difficult as you want by adjusting the settings. This way you can choose the difficulty level that you feel comfortable with.

In free race mode, you also have the freedom to make a race to your own wishes. Navigating precisely through the menus requires some time, but once you get it, you can completely go to make your dreamed race reality.

Adjusting seems to be the keyword in this Forza. In addition to the settings, this also marks the tune of the cars. This is very extensive and it is also very addictive to visit here to find just the extra seconds you are missing on the circuit.

Enough to experience in multiplayer

Of course there is also a multiplayer in Forza 7. First of all, there is a possibility to race together on the couch with a split-screen mode. In addition, there is the online multiplayer where you can choose from different racing races, each with different car classes. You can also create a private lobby with your own rules.

In addition to the hoppers, the game also gets League Seasons. In this you race in different divisions while trying to reach the highest possible division. These leagues are currently unavailable and come to the game at a later time. All in all, the multiplayer offers enough content and variety to help you get back in time.

Forza 7 review - Extended than ever

Forza Motorsport 7 offers the most content from the series so far. Career makeover overcomes its benefits and will definitely take a lot of time. The addition of a dynamic weather system and the many possibilities you can customize the game to your own wishes make the game a must-have for sports fans. Casual or die-hard, everyone who loves to race can enjoy themselves with Forza 7.
