Mimetic engineering: Why does this building resemble a fish?

The regular government office is unremarkable and common, its motivation obscure to the outside world. Not so with the National Fisheries Development Board (NFDB) in Hyderabad, India.

Worked in 2012, the monster angle molded building seems as though it is swimming in mid-air. Rectangular scale-like windows cut its silver body, while an empty mouth has been punched into the front and it has blue glass for eyes. Its address, as per Google, is the "Fish Building."

The three-story, 1,920-square-meter structure was composed along these lines by the Central Public Works Department of India for the straightforward reason that the work done inside identifies with angling.

"As Hyderabad is the head office of India's fisheries division, the legislature needed it to be one of a kind. It's an awesome building, especially for an administration office," says Shri MS Siddhartha, a chief at the NFDB.

Pictures of the NFDB have turned into a web sensation comprehensively, and it is viewed as one of the greatest, boldest and crudest cases of mimetic design
