Day 24: 5 Minute Freewrite

This is a post for the Freewrite Day 24 @mariannewest

This Weekend's Prompt

As I was walking through the forest this morning, I heard a strange sound coming from a lemon tree back beyond the fruit grove. I investigated the sound, and to my surprise, out jumped a little lemon man.

I was clearly confused; thinking I had to be dreaming. But after blinking my eyes, and rubbing the sleep away, the little lemon man was still there.

He has eyes of kiwi, with yellow star fruit for pupils. Long, thin arms that looked almost like stems coming from his plump lemon shaped body.

And, his legs. Such stout legs for a little lemon man.

“what is it you want little lemon man?” I asked.

He only smiled and did a dance. When he spoke, lemon juice flew from his lips.

After a while I figured, he just wanted to have a friend. I held him close took him home, and offered him some tea.

Ding!
