Eugene
The first winter in the US, I spend in Eugene Oregon. I loved that town. It wasn't really on my travel list - well, nothing really was. I was just floating along.
But I got there by riding my bicycle all the way from San Diego, California. I was going there because- but that is another story.
Let's suffice it to say that I was planning to ride the four corners - that is the lingo touring bicyclists use meaning to hit all four corners of the US - of course via riding a bike. It is kind of a macho thing -kind of like running ultra marathons. You know that it is going to hurt and you don't really know why you are doing such a thing - but you want to do it!
So, I am spending this winter in Eugene to wait for spring to be able to ride over the Rockies.
And I met this German lady Lilly. Well, that was her name on the day I met her.
Did I mention that Eugene Oregon - at least at that time - was for lesbians what San Francisco was/is for gay guys?
Well, Lilly had come from Germany to find her tribe. And she was very theatrical. One of the things she used to do was change her name on a regular basis. I kept calling her Lilly. That is how I met her and I am bad with names, to begin with. I can't remember a new name for a person every single week.
So, anyway, Lilly had a toothache and none of us had any money. That is what happens to lots of Hippy dippies - no money. At all. And poor Lilly was dramatizing "The Toothache" for at least a week.
Can't remember how she got it resolved. Probably pulled... And that would be the end of that tooth...

Well now I want to know more about the (planned) ride to the four corners! Hopefully we'll get to hear about it in a future post. :-)
Morning :)
Thanks for your invite the other day to join the Freewrite initiative - which I happily and gratefully accept.
Poor Lily!
