Linda Dacey-Laforge: Freewrite - Toothache.

in #freewrite7 years ago (edited)

I often think that teeth, along with childbirth, are God’s little joke on humanity.

For what an injustice to fill an orifice with fragile pearls which are then constantly bombarded, under attack, from substances diverse and destructive to their basic constitution.

A cavity is a travesty.

And tooth sensitivity, and ache, a right royal pain in the ass.

A person can diligently floss, brush and swill and still end up curled in a ball, driven to deranged distraction, by a manky molar throbbing monumentally.

I had just arrived in France and was in excruciating pain as I sat in the reclined chair mouth open wide, eyes ever wider - pleading. The Dentist peered around and without warning or ceremony, using the back of one of her tools, started to tap my teeth to identify the offending fang.

The pain I felt when she hit my poorly tooth sent me skyward and left her in no doubt as to the culprit. She set to work immediately and, as the anaesthetic kicked in, I felt relief for the first time in days.

Dentists’ are unsung heroes.

Routing around in mouths, laden with microbes and detritus from snacks or, worse still, last night’s dinner, their commitment to the cause of cavity prevention/repair, healthy gums and minty fresh breath is nothing short of miraculous.

And, I thank them.

Toothache is just not funny I feel for anyone suffering with it. Migraine headaches can come through teeth too, I went to the dentist & demanded they pull a tooth out it was agony & the pain was definitely coming from a tooth, After examining me she said Nope nothing wrong with the tooth about a couple of hours later I had the worst migraine I have ever had 4 days of death like pain I would of happy of taken death to rid the pain. I have a friend on the street that always has toothache he won't brush his teeth he is waiting for them to all fall out one at a time, Crystal meth can do that for you.

Toothache is sheer misery and migrane too - only ever had a mini one but boy was I crook.

I cannot imagine the amplified despair if not in a comfortable home.

Keep well and warm.

They're like some kind of design flaw, aren't they? Like the pain is so disproportionate. And yes, the dentist is my saviour when they hurt but I was a child in the 60s and no, there was NO NEED to drill my little pegs out and fill them with highly toxic amalgam.....and many dentists still advocate fluoride so they are not so innocent imho.

You are, of course, right.

Child of the sixties too here!

Needless toxic fillings and fluoride which calcifies the pineal gland and dumbs us all down!

Still, I wouldn't want their job and am beyond grateful when they sort me out :)

Indeed. I am happy to be putty in their evil hands when I'm in agony and they're holding the anaesthetic :)

chortle.

Oh I like that word.....it's a Beano word!

you know you can get your fillings replaced with fossil fillings now? distilled water is also great for detoxificatin of pineal gland u might alread yhave one but was best thing i possibly ever bought!

Thanks :)

Bought a water thingy about 6 months ago and ditched conventional toothpaste and mouthwash around the same time.

I know! Late to the party as always.

I also 'Oil Pull' twice daily which has proven to be somewhat miraculous.

think my Pineal Gland may be fossilised :0

Bugger.

years ago when they saw sugar as a delicacy and ate raw can sugar by the spoonfuls and in blocks and before dental care lots of rich people used to literally die of tooth decay. I am sure not eating processed sugar since i was 21 is why I never had any dental work yet.

sorry was logged into the wrong account

Haha.

Still a sucker for sweets!

Although never after I have flossed, brushed and gargled with teatree oil diluted with water.

Admire your willpower.

Your style is fun...I can’t relate though, I seem to get cavities that leave no trace until carefully inspected...

I seem to get cavities that leave no trace until carefully inspected..

Is that a good or bad thing?

My teeth are weak.

My resolve is strong!

Chortle.
