Must Eat Street Food in Thailand: Khao Kha Moo!

Where do you think I find the best khao kha moo?

Khao Kha Moo is a slow-braised pork leg on rice and one of the popular street food in Thailand. I am not a fan of pork leg but let me tell you this pork dish is the best leg I've ever had! Lol

I had this dish a couple of times in BKK, Pattaya and Chiang Mai. They're all very good but there's one that really stands out and I would love to go back and have another plate full of pork legs.

This Cowgirl lady is so famous on the internet that if you google her name you'll find a lot of reviews about her pork leg dish. The locals also now her she's pretty much a celebrity!

Although I didn't want to write a review about this dish because I wanted to try it from other places. I thought it might be just over-hyped, even after my visit to Chiang Mai and tried the Cowgirl's pork leg rice.

It was dinner time and we are ought to find this famous Cowgirl lady so we took a tuk-tuk and asked him if he knows where her stall is. For the first time, we didn't have to use google maps!

After passing the north old gate and toward the busy food stalls, I could see a lady wearing a hat and I knew it must her because she's the only one wearing a hat. I was actually a little excited, another 'foodventure'!

There were so many food stalls lining up but hers was the busiest one. We got there around seven pm and it was very busy. There were locals and tourists at her food stall. We had to wait for some people to finish eating and leave so there would be a vacant table for us.

We ordered the large serving of khao kha moo with two soft boiled eggs for 100 BHT ($3.13 USD) and two servings of rice for 20 BHT (63 cents USD). There were chili paste, whole chili peppers, cloves of garlic and pickled cabbage are on the table as complementaries.

They have this habit of eating in Thailand where you have to add your own chilies to your plate and others have pickled cabbage on the side. In my country, we have soy sauce, vinegar, calamondin or its common name is calamansi and whole chilies. I wasn't sure if I should eat it whole with my pork and rice. Am okay to add chili paste in my food but chunks of chili?

We normally crushed the chili in a saucer but I don't see anyone using a saucer. I know I could have asked one but I feel embarrassed and I just want to dig in! I love spicy food but I wasn't prepared for big chunks of chilies! lol

I ate the pork leg just the way it is and it was incredibly, incredibly so freakin' delicious (ever)! Sorry for being redundant but I can't help it. It's just one of those things that makes you not want to stop eating even though you're already stuffed! The meat was so tender and very tasty! I don't how else it could be better than this because I thought it was cooked into perfection. Then there's the soft boiled egg, yolks were still runny and when you dip it in the stew sauce, it'll make you salivate! Lol

This is something that I would eat every week! I highly recommend you guys try this dish if you visit Chiang Mai.

That food looks so amazing. I loved street food in Thailand. My fave was thai iced tea in a bag, or noodles with chicken. The noodles were thicker and so yummy.

Thank you?
The street food taste a lot better than most of the restaurant I went to in Thailand.

Those really looks tasty but right now I do not prefer hot and spicy foods because of my inflamed guns @purepinay
