Krispy Kreme - Salted Caramel Cheesecake

My regular follows will know how much of a Krispy Kreme fan I am. I love their donuts. If they weren’t so unhealthy I’d live on them! Today I bring to you their Salted Caramel Cheesecake.

This is another one I was hoping Krispy Kreme were going to bring back. I’m so glad they did. I love salted caramel. I love anything that is sweet and salty. It’s just a great combination of flavours that I go nuts for. I have had this one before, so I was really looking forward to sink my teeth into it. The white chocolate coating always breaks off when I bite into this donut. I do like the flavour of the white chocolate, especially with the salted caramel drizzle and the little biscuitty pieces on top. There is quite a lot of texture on top. I know what to expect with the filling. a double layer of vanilla cheesecake cream topped with oozing salted caramel. I couldn’t wait to dive in. Only this time there was a real lack of filling! I was gutted! After the amount of days I had to wait to eat this donut, I was left pretty disappointed. I had to eat half of the donut to get to any of the filling. When I did eventually get to some, there was more salted caramel than cheesecake filling. Ok… I’m really miffed now! The flavours were still there… the saltiness of the caramel and the sweet and tartness of the vanilla cheesecake filling. I just needed more!!!

This donut came from one of Krispy Kreme’s cabinets as opposed to one of their stores. The thing is, I always look for the biggest donut when I pick them. Maybe big isn’t always better. I’m hoping to get another one in this weekend before they go off the menu again. This donut is a lovely donut when you get one that is filled to the top. I practically had a fat, iced donut with no filling! I swear if I get another one like this, then I will be winging an email to Krispy Kreme HQ!
