Last week was Friday Foodies Contest 1. There were four (4) Steemians who participated. The contestants and their entry posts are

 Winner of 1st Prize & 1st Contestant

  • @ladyrebecca from Romania. Her entry post was on how to make whisky chocolate cheese cake. To be very frank with you, the innovation used in serving the dessert with chocolate teaspoons/chocolate mint bars  fascinated me, apart from my love for chocolate desserts. Below is an excerpt from her post.
As a special treat I got edible chocolate teaspoons, a great finishing touch if you want to impress your guests.

Congratulations to @ladyrebecca!!! She is the winner of the first prize of Friday foodies 1. The prize of 7 SBDs will be transferred to her shortly.

Winner of Second Prize & 4th Contestant

The 4th contestant of last week's Friday foodies contest was @indorecipe . All the way from Indonesia in the Asian continent, is a snack known as klappertart. The recipe was shared in the entry post for Friday foodies 1.  No wonder the name, @indorecipe.  According to @indorecipe,  the dessert, klappertart,  is Dutch-influenced. What a beautiful thing to create something new from Indonesia & Dutch recipes. Hmm...ingenious! She gets the second prize of 5 SBDs for this. Congratulations to @indorecipe!!!

If you like coconuts as much as I do, then @indorecipe's klappertart is a MUST TRY!

Please note: There was no provision made originally for 3rd & 4th prizes, but I have decided to give out 1 SBD each to winners of 3rd & 4th prizes.  All 4 contestants received at least $1 upvote and resteem of their posts from me at the time of their entry for the Friday foodies contest.

Winners of 3rd & 4th Prizes

The winners of 3rd and 4th prizes are @creativewoman & @turpsy. A light Mexican breakfast, quesadilla, was prepared by @turpsy. What I like about @turpsy's recipe is the filling of the tortilla with avocado. Hmm...avocados are packed full with healthy fat and nutrients.

Moroccan Brioche recipe was shared by @creativewoman in her entry post. The finished product, brioches, looked inviting & yummy. They are snacks which could easily make for the kids. How about that? Try the recipes & let the authors know how they tasted.

Entry Opened For Friday Foodies 2

Link original posts, which you've prepared for Friday Foodies 2 to this post following the rules from Friday foodies 1 and introductory post

Note: The idea of Friday foodies is not just to share recipes, but to actually participate by preparing the meal/snack/drink fresh on Friday and show exactly how the meal was prepared.

Regarding post tags, please use tags in this order

  • Food
  • Friday foodies
  • Country the food is from
  • Any other 2 tags

Using food as your first tag would make it easier for your post to be found in the food niche. When you tag your post friday foodies, that would help other stakeholders and I find your posts easily.

Prizes For Friday Foodie 2

There would be a review of the prizes based on how much this post generates. I guess it's easier that way, since there are no official sponsor (s) for Friday foodies program. It would have been difficult for me to pay out 12 SBD + 2 SBD, if not for the generous upvote of my brother and friend, @fulltimegeek. Thanks a million, @fulltimegeek!!! I really appreciate your support. This is the new model of rewards for winners of Friday foodies contest

First prize ------------  Full upvote (2 SBD) + 3 SBD

Second prize --------- Full upvote (2 SBD) + 1 SBD

Third Prize ----------- Full  upvote (2 SBD)

Fourth Prize --------- 50 % upvote (1 SBD)

Let's go have some fun together in the kitchen. I'm off to prepare dinner now, although it's a little late here.

Great! I can't wait to read your entry. Cheers.

Thank you very much! I'm happy my recipe got so much attention. As for appreciation, really it all goes to the chocolate!
Great idea with this contest!

Certainly, your recipe got my attention and that of others who came across and liked it.

Honestly, @ladyrebecca's whisky chocolate cheese cake was appealing. I guess those cakes would be mouth watering too. Thanks for your kind words and commendation. Steem on!

Congratulations to the winners. I love avocado, but it's not something you'd see all season here unless you go to the mall. I prefer buying my fruits along the road :)

Hi @greenrun. I appreciate your congratulating the winners of Friday foodies 1 contest. I love avocado too. Yes, it's true that avocado is a seasonal fruit.

I prefer buying my fruits along the road :)

Are you kidding me? So you patronize food vendors. Anyway, for a fruit that is protected first with the skin still on e.g oranges, avocados etc., it wouldn't be much of a problem for me to patronize a food vendor. However, there are certain fruits I can NEVER buy from the roadside e.g. pineapple that is already peeled & cut into chunks.

I buy my fruits whole. Then wash at home. You wouldn't find me anywhere near an already prepared fruit seller. Yeah, I prefer the market and streets for my fruits. I'd like to believe they are fresher and not in any way contaminated by preservatives. Just one of my numerous quirks :)

Oh, I see! It's always best to buy your fruits whole.

Your preference is a smart one, but sometimes whole foods stores too have fresh fruits & vegetables. They go straight to buy their groceries from the farm. I'm not sure about Nigeria, though.

I am not sure about here too until I'm sure I may change then. Thank you.

Hello everyone, I really love this contest on food for its one of a kind. Though am new and I have a lot to learn about this platform.
