Funny Shit Shaped Chocolate Sugar Cookie Recipe and Photo Shoot

I'm a nihilist at heart, one full of sick jokes meant to relieve the pressure of weird life stresses. The last several years (including the 2 or so before we got into Mexico...at least) were full of shit to say the least and we're finally getting to a point in life where we can start to joke about these things and possibly even move beyond them. We've defied the odds in a lot of ways with everything we've done. Recently I found myself inspired enough to actually make shit cookies, partially due to the purchase of the adorable poop emoticon cookie cutter.

Now they may look like shit but they sure don't taste like it. I frosted these but in the future I'll honestly keep them plain as they were better that way, and cuter. For that reason, I'm just sharing the cookie recipe, no frosting.

Ingredients:

3/4 c salted butter, room temperature
1 egg
1 c sugar
1 t vanilla
2/3 c cocoa powder
1.5 c flour
1 t baking powder

Start by creaming the butter and sugar. Add the cocoa and combine. Add the egg, then the vanilla. Finally mix in the flour and baking powder until just combined. It should be a somewhat dry dough. Work into a ball and put in a smaller bowl to chill in the fridge for at least 2 hours.

Roll it out to about a quarter inch thick and cut out the cookies. Mexican's seriously LOVE emoticons and there's everything from pillows to tee-shirts available and seriously popular here. In a natives posts, you'll notice an excessive use of emoticons, even with men. It makes sense that such a human culture would love emoticons. I purchased more than just the shit cookie face, if you're wondering.

Bake em at 350 for 12-15 minutes until they look like this. Carefully remove from the pan immediately.

They tasted like chocolate poptarts, honestly.

The frosting is good but they were better plain. I've always thought the poop emoticon was one of the cuter ones (for some reason...weird...) so I'm glad this recipe didn't spread, it just puffed a little and held the shape well. They were flaky and rich, not shitty at all.
