Farm Updates: New Silkie Night House Shots
Silkie time! They were originally staying in a repurposed fish tank with a heat lamp but now that they're bigger and better I've cleaned the cage and made it silkie friendly. This is now where they spend their nights. The fish tank will be cleaned and prepared for baby chicks, hopefully to hatch in a few days or so.
Are those not the cutest chickens ever? For people wondering, these are baby chickens of the silkie variety. Their feathers look and feel like fur and they have extra toes and black skin. They even sound and act a little different than regular chickens. They've quickly become my favorites.

They do look very silkie... How did they act differently from other chickens?
And is that a heat lamp overhead or just a regular light bulb?
Its a heat lamp. They have slightly different mannerisms. For example when I take them out in the mornings and set them into their enclosure, after I close the lid they look around for a second then charge around in circles. They also make different noises
