These images were taken whilst walking along the shores at the Tangalooma Beach Resort on Moreton Island in Queensland, Australia. Some had been washed ashore, others stayed on the sand and got swept out to sea again.

I really like that last one. Not that I've spent much time on the shore, but I have never seen a starfish with that texture. It looks like it would be a painful one to accidentally step on!
So true @fotosdenada One has to tread carefully around these lovely, but prickly starfish. They obviously serve to protect them. Thanks very much for dropping by.
