The Garden of Eden

SULI flew over the vicinity of the coast of the continent, in front of it, a small island rose on the horizon, a small and austere Eden, in the middle of a desert world.

-Confirmed, the island to the south of the continent possesses vegetation - said by the communicator, to his remote controllers, located in a ship of exploration in orbit around the planet.

-Received SULI, please explore the island, without descending to less than five hundred meters - responded a few seconds later.

SULI descended and began to fly over the island by drawing circles from the outside to the interior of the island, recording, in addition to the visible light frequency, thermal, ultraviolet and infrared images of the surface, while searching for sources of radio and ionizing radiation and analyzing gas emissions.

-I detect life forms of multiple sizes and shapes, because of their gas emissions, they are all carbon-based, there are at least eight hundred life forms that I can differentiate, only on a macroscopic level -explained SULI, after two hours of flying over and thoroughly exploring the island.

-Thanks SULI, I think it's time for you to go back to the ship, that's enough for today, -replied the operator's voice from the ship.

-Understood sir, I return immediately - after saying this, SULI rose almost vertically, from its position on the center of the island, to leave the reddish atmosphere of the planet and head for the exploration ship.

In the ship, the three human crew members of the mission were preparing to receive the probe and download the information it had recorded, they had the curious honor of being the first to explore one of the greatest oddities found so far; a planet with oceans populated with abundant forms of life, which had nothing peculiar, but with a vast continent completely desert, where except a few microscopic life forms, nothing survived, which would not be anything new, if it were not for that small island, a few hundred square kilometers, where macroscopic life proliferated, as a small paradise, unique in the planet.
