Introduction

There are more than 50 DApps (Decentralized Applications) created on the Steem blockchain in the past year. The ecosystem of Steem is just so huge that more and more new ones are coming on the horizon each month. All of this is working towards the good of Steem. On top of that, many DApps are reaching out to new people via social media such as Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, Youtube, etc. With this, I can foresee an influx of newcomers coming onto Steem in 2019. Never had there been such intense development of DApps than in the past 6 months. More new DApps are coming on board in 2019.

How will newbies find their success on Steem when they first come in? If they get lost, they will get discouraged and eventually lose interest on this Steem journey. We don't want this to happen.

A 'gap' is there!

Be A Mentor Program for DApps - Filling in the Gap

The newbies need a hand of friendship to give them the initial boost of early success. A hand of friendship goes a long way for newcomers! If someone can take a newbie by the hand and guide him/her in the beginning, he/she will not lose interest so quickly and can eventually find their path of success easier because of the guidance of a 'mentor'.

The whole idea is to get a mentor to take a potential newbie by the hand and coach them for 1 month. This will definitely make a difference for the newbie. I have worked in entrepreneur business and know the importance of guiding clients in their first month on our platforms. In the same way, I believe having a mentor taking a potential newbie by the hand and coaching the person for 1 month will certainly make a big difference for him. Because of this initial help, the newbie will be able to sail along on his own with his own skills and initiatives.

Core Mission of the Mentor to the Steem Blockchain:

• reaches out to newbies either on Steem or outside of Steem.

• gives a personal touch to newbies coming on board.

• guides newbies to start using a DApp successfully in the first month.

• helps newbies to feel at home and get comfortable right away.

• changes the atmosphere of the Steem blockchain to one that is engaging and responsive in the community.

• builds a fun interactive communication in different DApp communities.

• brings some initial success to newbies in a positive and constructive way.

Report #1 - Partiko Mentorship Program Round 1

With 50+ DApp, we picked Partiko app to start off this program. As the program matures, more and more DApp Mentors will be built. All DApps Mentorship program will run in similar procedures.

January, 2019 - Recruiting Partiko Mentors

We recruited 10 Partiko Mentors onboard. These mentors needed to send in their applications to get approval to become qualified mentors.

Role of a Successful Partiko Mentor - 4 Stages

Stage 1. Reach out to potential newbies outside of Steem or on Steem using #introduceyourself or #introducemyself tags and welcome them!

Stage 2. Introduce Partiko app to friends who are not using the Partiko app yet.

Stage 3. Guide mentees to download the Partiko app & use the app effectively in the first month by earning up to 3300 Partiko points.

Stage 4. Create a Post of their Mentoring Work

Out of the 10 chosen Partiko mentors, 6 of them have written a report post of their mentoring work at the end of their February and got rewarded.

• Since this is the first round, we suggested to the mentors to mentor only 5 mentees.
• As you can see from the above report, it is possible to mentor 5 mentees in one month's time. Some managed to get more students while others are less.

Total Number of Mentees - 32

This number is pretty good for the first round.

The Partiko Mentorship Program has started for Round 2 in March. The result will be even more awesome after Round 1 experience! Stay tuned and follow us to get Report #2.

This DApp Mentorship Program is a free service to Steemians by bringing a more personal touch and engagement to the Steem blockchain. Our goal is to help newbies to succeed in using the DApps when they come on board to this maze of Steem.

We will move on recruiting mentors for different DApps. This is already in the pipeline as project owners of the different DApps are being contacted.
