One Of Our Own Moves Higher... (You Must Read This One)

in #curie6 years ago (edited)

The Goal

When @mudcat36 came up with the idea of starting #newbieresteemday, his goal was to help "the newbies" to use our collective efforts to truly make a difference in their learning experiences and satisfaction levels. Individually most of us are really small, but together we can make a difference. Or so he dreamed!

What defines whether our collective initiative is working is what happens to the people we serve and to the members that serve them. If we grow, if we help others to grow, and if we raise the bar and the knowledge levels, then we succeed.

@randomwanderings Breaks Out By Finding Quality Among Us

We are so pleased to announce that one of our founding members @randomwanderings is now an @curie Curator. See his latest post I Am Now A Curie Curator Here on SteemIt!. He will now be responsible in his "additional" role to DISCOVER the best material out there. And he gets paid to do so!!

The Story Gets Better

The way he got @curie's attention was through the posts he submitted. And guess what? They were from 2 of the newbies that we served (and he found them through his "re-steeming" efforts). How cool is that? ("Re-Steemers" are cooler than you thought, huh?) ;)

He discovered two amazing posts by newbies @krishnendukj and @katrina-ariel that he "thought would be great to propose to Curie". He proposed them and @curie loved them both! @curie liked them so much they upvoted them for hundreds of $s and made them both instant success stories!

So now not only is @randomwanderings a professional Curator for @curie, he has also put 2 of our newbies on the map and into the eyes of the steemians that make a difference here.

Proof Is There If You Take The Time To See It

With this one amazing achievement, @randomwanderings has done more than just propel 3 of us forward. While of course that is great and we're elated for all three of them, what he has really done is become a role model for others to emulate. How many newbies might want to follow in his footsteps? How many resteemers will look even harder for the @krishnendukj's and the @katrina-ariel's of the future?

How many newbies will want to come visit our tag #newbieresteemday and find a re-steemer to be discovered?

This is big news people. It is significant. If you take the time to read his post and think about it, you will understand.

This is just the first of many amazing things that will happen to us as we ALL move forward.

Thank you for being a leader @randomwanderings. We are proud of you and happy to be your teammate, and we are really excited about our future together!

Thanks for the post @davemccoy . I am just happy I can help further the movement and get some of the Newbies recognized. I know there is lots of great content mixed in all the posts we are resteeming, and would love to bring attention to it. Obviously I can't ready every post, so if one of our Resteemers comes across a great post, please let me know. Or if they write what they think is an exceptional post, let me know. There are some guidelines a post has to fit of course, and at some point I will post about the specifics, but for now just know it has to be exceptional. While the term can be objective, things like grammar, spelling, and basic structuring is important. Basically create great content and you have a chance.

I have only curated two posts so far for Curie (I am allowed to submit 5 this week since it is my first week). It feels great to be able to help these two great women get ahead a bit here on SteemIt. Something that is important to remember is to engage with people. The way I met @katrina-ariel and @krishnendukj was when they commented on my random posts. One was simply about winning some Steem in a trivia contest and how I thought it was a cool way for a Newbie to get their hands on some quick Steem. The other posts was recapping how I did on SteemIt my first week and how it seems that if we stick with it and create good content that it can actually become a profitable venture on top of the fun you are having. They commented on these posts, I responded, a conversation began. So afterward I went and checked out their pages and saw that they were talented and had great posts, which led to a follow, future conversations, and now has ended up where they got this big upvote on their great posts, which is hopefully leading to some further exposure for them. But outside of the other exposure, they will get that payout in a few days and can build their SteemPower, or grab some of the cash out of their account if then need to.

Also, with these two women I am sure this will be true, but even with most other people, when they get this little bit of a push to advance in the community, as they build up their own power and influence here on SteemIt they will continue to help the others that come after them to further the community as a whole.

Anyway, this comment has become much longer than I was expecting. (Longer than some posts!) lol... Thanks for the recognition @davemccoy and for letting me jump on board of the Newbie Resteem Initiative alongside you, @mudcat36 and all the others.

haha.. I understand, some of my replies take much more energy than my posts. lol

You really did an amazing thing and I'm super happy that you got rewarded for it. Its a great honor that you received and it will also help you very much in this community. I am proud of you and happy that you are my friend!

Also you should know that you really will help so many others that will hear the story of what you did. (Note: I know they will hear about it because I will tell them) ;) ... If you look at the comments below you can see that your story has already opened some eyes. You have validated the re-steemers and the value that they bring. And you have (and will many times more) inspired the newbies to work through our program so that they too can be noticed.

Again, this was fantastic and I'm so happy that we are going through this process together!!! Keep it up and if I can do anything for you, please let me know :)

Just a short congratulations and thank you for the work and the recognitions you have provided.

Just wanna say a short congratulations as well. I love what the @curie team is doing :)

I just woke and saw my post on trending! Honestly I'm so happy! Thank you so much @randomwanderings , @davemccoy, @mudcat36 and everybody involved with #newbieresteemday. I couldn't have done it without all of you, and I will forever be grateful to each and everyone of you.

I no longer qualify as a newbie, as I'm above 40 now, so I will be joining in to help newbies soon enough. Let us all work together to make Steemit a better place.

Congratulations @katrina-ariel! I wish you all the best in the world!

Yay for being curied! Thank you, and congratulations to you as well, @krishnendukj. My very best to you as well! :)

And a quick congratulations to you also, you Dave, krishnendukj , and of course randomwanderings, all deserve congratulations. I hope you all have a nice day.

You deserve it KJ, you are awesome! I love your stuff! I think you have a great future here and I'm happy to be a witness and a supporter of yours. And yes, you are not a newbie anymore ;) ... lol

I don't think you will have any problems, but feel free to keep submitting your work to the resteemers as you still learn all the other aspects of how steemit works. And never hesitate to ask for help, we all want you to succeed.

I'm looking forward to you also flipping over the the other side and now being a founding member of this group. I think you will have much power and that power can be used to help many newbies get the same experience you've had. You've got the right attitude of working together and we all share that thought and work with you as our teammate :)

Again, great job and congratulations!!!

REALLY? Me? A founding member? I'm more than happy to! And thank you again. I'll do a good job supporting the newbies, I promise. :)

yes you KJ... You are amazing and we are lucky to have you as a founding member! I know you will do a good job, I have seen your internal drive to succeed and when you put your mind to anything I believe strongly that you will succeed. You are one of us, we all are teammates just helping each other in the ways we can.

Hope your #newbieresteemday went well, talk to you later! And thank you again for working with us :)

Congratulations, and thank you for wanting to carry the tradition on.

Because you are great and you deserved it. Wow! Congratulations!

Great job to all 3 of you @randomwanderings @krishnendukj @katrina-ariel! Once again, you have been resteemed!

You have been resteemed as part of #newbieresteemday ... I made today my #newbieresteemday, and invite you and others to do the same. To learn more: Come Join Us!!! (Newbie Resteem Initiative)

I must say @davemccoy, As a newbie myself @mudcat36 also found me because of my intro post, Because he found me you also found me, or I found you.

I did manage to raise my reputation to 33 which to me is a great start. I see many on here almost stuck at 25. And I believe that could be discouraging. Some steemians with good quality content are hidden away from the world.

As I grow and develop I will always try and follow a few new bloggers with similar interest to me.

Goodluck with the initiative and thank you. I definitely benefited from the program. Now I did not trend and make hundreds. But I did take some good steps forward. And I learned a lot about the steemit platform.

This is an awesome comment @upclass. You are doing everything right. I agree that we all don't have to grow at the same pace and as long as we keep learning and improving and meeting new connections, then we will all get better together.

Take me for instance, I will get lots of upvotes on this posts but earn less than 0.50. That's because most of my followers are like me and have little to no power with our votes. But that's ok, my friends will grow up and I will grow with them. And those $0.01 or lower votes could one day be $1.01 votes. Its in our interests to help each other, and I'm so glad to hear you already know this.

Does this mean that you are going to be a founding member along with us? (I'm volunteering you if you let me!!!) ;)

I spend some time on Steemit. My goal is to learn the system inside and out.

In fact learning Steemit is also a part of a different project I am running that explores ways for people to make a little extra income online legitimately (along with a risk factor). So one of my goals is to lead new people to Steemit and at the same time teach them how to use the system in a way that is beneficial to all parties involved.

So I will already have the task of getting the knowledge and info together to assist new Steemians in establishing themselves outside of Steemit, applying that inside as well could work. I myself am still a newbie though.

With regards to me being a founding member. I just never want to so to "take credit" for something that rightfully belongs to someone else. I will definitely join the #newbieresteemday initiative. If you want to label me a founding member I will also gladly accept. But I do not say this lightly.

I take most things seriously so I would come up with a content strategy. A sort of top 10 newbie Resteemday blog posts with links background etc. Most likely in the areas of my interest. Some topics bore me...

One thing that I can definitely say though is that I finished setting up my recording studio as well. Video, sound, lighting. So I will start using Dtube (Along with youtube) as well and most likely keep an eye out over there for new users. Sometimes encouragement is well needed in the video world. I personally have a lot going for myself and I am nervous about doing video. So I will see what happens. Sometimes going outside your comfort zone is a good thing. Hoping to also make some great lifetime contacts in that regard.

I do apologize, my head usually runs places. In short, I am definitely available to assist wherever needed. You could also check out my website to see my motives on Steemit. My website should be linked on my profile. That might be good incentive. It also shows my goals and intentions on here.

You are a founding member. No more needed to say. I love your attitude and the way you think. That is the only requirement, to care about helping others. Everyone is different and brings a different skillset. And frankly like different things, but the one thing that binds us here is that we all want to help others.

So it took me awhile to sift through my messages, but I'm glad I found this. You should contact me on discord so we can also DM... if you are not on discord, go to this link and join.. it takes just a few seconds. https://discord.gg/RSD88W find me by adding me as a friend I am davemccoy#2479 ... then we can communicate there.

Btw, lots of our people have experience in life and are not only judged by their time on steemit.. Steemit is a great platform, and a useful tool to achieve success, but at the end of the day I want to help people (the people here and the people out there too).

I look forward to working with you! And I'm sure you will like the others too :)

Hey, No problem. I know sometimes life happens. We have other commitments as well. That and its weekend. I will add you on discord, I know I have discord. I have used it in the past.

I know this will be a good journey and I look forward to it. My last blog post was about something similar that you shared: "at the end of the day I want to help people".

Few things will ever compare to those moments where you are part of the solution so other's problems. Referring to major issues. But I still have a long way to go in that regard. Congrads on the $24 post. It might not be hundreds, But its not bad for a post I feel. Will send you a discord message tomorrow. Just came by now to check my replies as well.

I look forward to connecting with you on discord (and of course out here too)... We have some fun planned for this week so it should be a good one!

I added you on discord, I will keep an eye out on there as well, Good Luck.

Thanks! It sure has been a steep learning curve for me.

It is for everyone, there is so much to learn. Do you have any specific questions, I'm sure we have plenty of answers to help you get to the next step. That's what we are here for!

This is great news! i am also a newbie and is trying my way through this platform. Congratulations @randomwanderings and to our two newbies..

Keep up the goodwork @ krishnendukj. Followed you already. Thank you for sharing your talent. Cheers my friend.

I agree with you very much @itsmechille... and if you need any help just let me know!

That's so nice of you @davemccoy to extend your help to get me through this platform. I really appreciate that. I would be needing a little support sir for my recent articles and future posts i guess, while I am getting my way through this platform. Any kind of support is highly appreciated. Again, thank you so much sir for your help. I am looking forward of seeing more posts from you. I am a follower. God bless you! Take care and have a great day!

Hi I would be happy to help you. First in order to get more people to see your posts, try to use one of your five tags to be #newbieresteemday ... by doing that any of the "re-steemers" can find you easier.

Second go to the hashtag #newbieresteemday and scroll through it and find the "re-steemers" on duty that day. You can do this by searching from the "new" because is goes by newest first.

Third, you should read through this post with Dear Dawne particularly her comments. She is a pro and will give many tips to people and you can read the things shes says to make the posts better. Also she will have another show next week and you can have her give you specific advise of a post that you want her to see.

That is enough for now, but I am happy to help you if you really want to grow. I will work with you to make that happen. And God bless you too @itsmechille :)

https://steemit.com/deardawne/@davemccoy/dear-dawne-is-going-live-today-get-a-pro-to-check-out-your-blog-the-line-starts-forming-3-2-1-now

Hi davemccoy for the hepful tips. Will definitely keep it in mind when posting . Also, will check dawne to improve forming. I am a supporter of your articles by the way. Thank you for helping me my friend. Looking forward for your newest posts. Take care. See you around. God bless you sir!

Just catching up with my replies, so I wanted to say I am looking forward to you talk with @goldendawne on tuesday... She will be a great asset to you!

and I'm happy you find my tips helpful... I want to see you do well!!! :)

Thank you so much for taking the time looking after me..that is so sweet of you to find time to remind of the opportunity talking to @goldendawne. I cant wait for tuesday. So excited to exchange thoughts with her. I just want to let you know how grateful i am to have you. Again, i cant thank u enough. Take care. See you around. Take care.

haha... that's why I love ya sweetcha, the earth isn't big enough to handle your always upbeat motivation. I'll go to the moon with you :)

Thank you SO much!

Thanks a lot for helping me out and also introducing me to other contest. Last few days I am getting a lot of bandwidth error messages and I cant vote due to that. i wonder how to manage through those errors. Thanks a lot for helping out newbies like me :)

Rydhi

You are welcome Rydhi and its my pleasure to help you. We help each other, that's the best way!

As for the bandwidth issue, it is not anything that you are doing. It is happening to all of us. Because so many people are joining, it puts pressure on the ones with low SP (which is all of us) and stops us from "doing" anything. We can only view during this time, but we can not post, upvote, follow people, or even collect our money. It varies by the day and some days is worse than others. In my case it happens around 8am and usually lasts for 3 to 8 hrs.

I just use the time to do other things. Like prepare my posts and comments to others, and then I leave them open in separate browser windows. When it comes back then I can send them all 20 seconds apart from each other.

I hope this helps, ask me if you have any more questions.

ps...I ready your profile too and I think it is great that you are here and trying to help women!

Thanks for bringing this possibility to my attention. I will consider participating myself somewhere down the line once I get more established in the ecosystem.

You can participate by just showing up right now. Join the people that you see here and get to know people. Also use the resteemers to get your posts noticed. We are here to help and there are many of us that will help to guide you and answer any questions. Welcome to steemit @cavesson! I'm happy to connect to you :)
