Dr. TLK _ Curation Contest: Help me to Thank you # 9
Source
New Info
Since post rewards are becoming less and less everyday, I will post this contest only once a week. Both the sharing and rewards will be affected accordingly. Sorry for not being able to maintain this contest as frequently and I hope I will not stop completely. To keep it up, we will need more upvotes and more participation for judges as well as writers.
Since I am new to the whole contest thingy, I am trying to make rules that will accommodate as many people in a fun way, and also will make winners happy with their wins.
Therefore, the rules may change with time but I hope to the best for everyone and please let me know if these rules work out for you.
What is this contest about?
The reasons behind this contest is
1- To give my gratitude to the steemians (especially my followers) for their hard work in creating quality content and for their support to me and steemit community.
2- To increase the interaction and support between readers and writers.
3- Everyone is a winner, whether you submit a post or you upvote a post, you will be a winner and receive some rewards.
4- I will choose the 5 posts with highest number of upvotes, 3 of them I will upvote them with (0.5, 0.4 and 0.3 SBD from first to third respectively, or equal SBD for equal # of upvotes). The other 2 I will upvote them with 0.2 SBD. All upvotes will be done by either @minnowbooster or @treeplanter, whichever available. and Depending on the payouts I will send them their cash rewards (Steem or SBD), or upvote another post they wrote.
Please note that I may reply and comment on your entry but I will not upvote any entry because I am leaving that to the judges. I will only upvote the winning posts :)
5- Each week, Every 10 episodes, I will send a gift to the 10 people that were most actively involved in working as judges and helping me making choices. The gift is a surprise (cash or upvote).
I changed the duration above because it is not possible to tell who is really actively involved in judging from 2 episodes per week.
6- I will run the competition 2 times Once a week due to low rewards.
7- I will share 1/2 the SBD reward pool of this post with all participants and judges. I will use the SBD reward pool to pay the winners and to buy bid bots' upvotes. I will share whenever the payouts are good enough.
The rules to participate and win upvotes:
1- Comment here with the title of your post and few introductory words. Also don't forget to add a link to your post here.
Only one post per person per contest
2- It has to be Original quality post. On any subject.
For photography posts, please make sure to write something about your photography on your post. Please don't post a picture without any description
3- Upvote this post (the higher you upvote this post, the more rewards you will get :)
The rules to judge and win gifts:
1- Upvote this post
2- Upvote the link of your choice.
3- You can upvote a minimum of 2 posts and maximum of 5.
4- Give a reason for why you upvote the post of your choice? (This will tell me that you at least read the post)
Guests of Honor
Any original post that contains deep feelings and meaning which moves my heart will receive a different amount of reward (cash or upvote).
All support to enhance the upvotes and gifts are welcomed and appreciated 😁.
...Till Next Episode!

Saturday painting on my junk.
https://steemit.com/freewrite/@wonderwop/painting-some-junk
Those pens seem to work really well. I have bits all over the place that could do with brightening up. I might invest in some.
They are really easy to use. I just used a toothpick to get into the tiny crevasses. 🎨
Wow, you did some job on the birdhouse and plaque.... They look like new... I love how vibrant the colours look.. Good on ya..
Thank you, it was actually fun choosing the colors.
You change the look of the junk so quickly into something very nice and colourful. They look like new.
I was very pleased with the outcome. Thank you for the kind words.
Not bad ! Not bad at all !
You did well painting them.
I am more curious about those pen though. How much did they cost again ?
I'll get you a cost this weekend. I have to ask Debbie.
Ok.. I will be waiting for the cost :)
Wow ! Thanks. Hope I didn't cause too much trouble for you :)
No trouble at all. 😉
Glad to hear that !
You did an outstanding job. I am impressed. It looks like lots of fun too. It is cool the way you can take junk and with a touch up, breathe new life in to old stuff.
You are so right. 😘
Happy Caturday Dailypetphotography
Today is Caturday Saturday and I have just posted fresh new photos of Furry, that I like to share. She is having busy day. Digging the plants, having bath, sunbathing, sleeping and munching and sleeping again.:-)
Furry is gorgeous!! I'd say she loves her sleep like most cats, and if she doesn't get it she'd be less furry and more fury! 😻 The picture of her yawning is a great shot..
Haha, she is Furry the Furious.
Just chilling and watching the world go by. I wish I was a cat!
Yes, sometimes I wish to swap places either with her or with the dogs. :-)
But not when we visit the vets. LOL
I wish I could had a pet like Furry ! Unfortunately Our administrators don't allow pets. :(
I had no pets when I was younger and I always wished to. But now I have two dogs and a cat.
How lucky you are !
When I will get older enough to look after my ownself, I will pet a puppy dog for sure..
I love this furry baby, now I need to post a photo of mine.
And I love your furry baby. So cute. :-)
I decided to become a little arty with some photos I took while on a walk with the dogs. It was just after a snow storm which hit the UK a week or so ago
The Beast from the East - Aftermath
Those pictures are excellent @maninayton. My favourite is the one with the dog. Great job
Thanks very much - the dog in question is Tiggy - a Jackapoo - and you can just make out Pippy in the centre about a third of the way down the picture. She's a Jack Russell.
Ah yes, I can see Pippy now as well!! It was hard to spot her with the snow... the snow is great time to take great photos, especially because we don't get it too often.. That second last photo with the hazy bush in background is really good as well, very atmospheric
Flattery will get you everywhere! Thank you for the comments.
Ha ha, you're gas! :o)
It seems we all like the one with the dog, but all pictures are presented nicely.
Funny how the storm was called - The beast from the east. My boyfriend is English expat and he told me about the winter in 1978 when the storm hit UK. He found some old pictures in Internet to show. It was very bad then.
I was living in Cyprus in 1978 so I managed to miss that one :-) Thanks for your comment.
Your pictures came out great. I love b&w photography. The puppies look like they had a good time.
They certainly did, although they seemed glad to get back to the central heating!
These are awesome photos and nicely edited. Seems like a very lonely and quiet place to me and yet so beautiful !
Thank you. Yes, I enjoy taking the dogs there to get a little me time although I've just come back from a walk there looking like a drowned rat! Its been raining non-stop all day here. take care.
I love snow! Your photographs are amazing. This first one is my favorite. Beautiful!
This week I am going to share some music with you guys, but most especially the music videos from an amazing Icelandic band called Sigur Rós.. You need to be patient as the songs take a while to build up. Trust me, the patience is worth it.. Find a few minutes spare, go to this link and watch the videos and let me know what you think.. Trying to share some good vibes, which is perfectly fitting for this contest actually.. https://steemit.com/music/@ablaze/sigur-ros-thought-provoking-beautiful-timeless-music-and-accompanying-music-videos
I'm with your wife on the album image. It's like something out of a nightmare! I've never heard of this band but their music is superb. I especially like the last song and video. Thanks for the post.
Ya it is a freaky enough picture in fairness. I'm so glad you took the time to listen to the songs and you appreciate the music. Thanks a lot
I heard these songs for the first time and I like them. Mostly the first one. I still feel the child in me. Like my friend used to joke and ask me "Are you five?" :-)
The description of each song is brilliant. Thanks for sharing the good vibes.
It is the best start of the day and the week.
Thanks so much for taking the time to listen @nelinoeva That's so nice that the music resonated with you, it's great to act a little daft/childish and have some fun sometimes... We should all do it more... We could learn a lot from kids.... Care free, easy going (mostly!) and live for the moment.. have a great day and week yourself :o)
I had never heard of this band before, until now. The videos were nicely done. I liked the old people jumping in puddles and acting like kids.
Thanks for listening @wonderwop I know it's never easy to find the time, I appreciate you finding some for it, and I'm glad you enjoyed it.. Cheers
This talks about security abuse
And tries to ask possible solutions to it
https://steemit.com/security/@ategun/what-is-the-best-solution-to-security-abuse-6533f01e64af
It is difficult to see what can be done to alleviate this kind of problem. In many countries, the corruption and abuse by the security forces are a reflection of the corruption and abuse of the government. In this case, only a regime change can have any hope of reforming the security forces. In a freer society, public opinion, a robust press and accountable government will hopefully curtail the worst abuses.
I think political instability is one of the problems we have and no continuity when a new government comes in they bring in new plans and jettison the previous administrative projects and programs
I agree with what you say about the continuity problem but there must be accountability at all levels. Security service monitoring should be placed in the hands of a body independent of government who also have the legal power to act. Thank you for your post.
That would have been better
But I bet you this won't be possible because it not in favour of the political cabal
Thanks for reading through 👏
Enjoyed our talk. Keep up with the posting and maybe we will chat again. :-)
What you are talking about is a long term process and it's hard to achieve.
Things like that always takes a lot of time and a lot of man power.. That's why nobody bother to take the initiation. Those who does eventually stops due to lack of support.
Not to mention, it will somewhat halt the government system for sometime.
Plus there are some administrative bodies who are corrupted. Strengthening them might result some backlash.
Strengthening Institutions is a better idea. But I don't still have an idea how..
Good luck finding a good answer. Please let me know :)
Well to me, I think good institution is the best solution
Thanks for giving your opinion
My pleasure ! :)
Riddle #8 (with SBD reward)
I post riddles everyday. Today I make a simple riddle with one stage (usually I make at least two stages)
It took me a while but is the answer STEEM?
Yeap, this is the answer. Could you write your answer as comment in my post?
Done - thanks for the SBD :-)
You are welcome ^_^

Hiya...I am a leather artist and craftsman who does "how I did that" photo blogs. Here is one of my latest. Thanks for your consideration!
https://steemit.com/art/@armadilloman/leather-is-my-art-medium-geometric-tooling-an-armadilloman-photo-blog
It is amazing what you have created. How did you learn to become so skillful?
Thanks @nelinoeva. Some mediums you just gravitate to and pick up. I am self taught and was first exposed to leatherwork in 1972 in a Jr High School shop class. From the very first project it just clicked with me. I mostly learned by experimentation and looking at other's work and tried to figure out how they did what they did.
@theleapingkoala Upvoted and resteemed.
This is my most recent post KillerPixContest #26 Triangles ~ Thirteen Folds. It is a photography contest entry. The theme is triangles and I photographed my father's folded funeral flag.
Thank you for all you do! It is appreciated. I will try to checkout the other post when I have more time. I lost an hour today springing forward. I am feeling it. lol
Upvoted you in your post. I've run out of votes here!
Thank you! I appreciate the encouragement.
Thanks you for your father's service.
Everytime I go to see my parents at Fort Sam Houston National Cemetery in San Antonio Texas, if there is a service happening, I always watch them fold the flag and listen to Taps. Thank him for
his service. 🇺🇸 🇨🇱
Thank you for understanding its significance.
Who do you survive the winter in Lisbon? With Alcohol of course and our favorite one from Lisbon is that super sweet cherry liqueur called Ginjinha: https://steemit.com/lisbon/@for91days/sticky-sweet-ginjinha-a-shot-a-day-keeps-the-doctor-away
I'll drink to that!
My personally have no problems with that ... Cheers!
