The Inbox Runneth Over

is a private curation project begun by @enchantedspirit to honor the exceptional posts she finds in her Steemit travels. The content here will feature a good number of posts from The Steem Engine group in Discord. Their customary post is titled The Daily Whistle Stops.

@enchantedspirit is the curator there, and in that work she finds quite a few posts that are casual, interesting, well-written, helpful or just fun to experience (sometimes writers, sometimes musicians, sometimes artists), but because they are up against such stiff competition that day in submissions to The Steem Engine they can't be included in The Daily Whistle Stops. They also tend to be short, easy to read, easy to digest.

So, she brings them here and finds them a home -- because they deserve more than just a quiet decline and death ... an experience that is already all too common in Steemit. (I know I don't need to tell you that, but it's true!) Sometimes, there may be outside content, too ... from other intriguing people she follows. Sweet little "feature story" experiences and fun artistic moments of all kinds have their place in life -- and on Steemit, too. Please stop in and visit these guys ... and if you enjoy their work, show them you care.

I ... and they ... thank you more than you'll ever know.

You can find The Daily Whistle Stops at @thesteemengine -- and there is information there and here at the bottom of this post telling you how to apply to join. There is also another curation project run by both @enchantedspirit and @catweasel on his blog. It's called The Magnificent Seven and it also features exceptional content we find on our Steemit journey. You will find things in both places that are worth your time and effort -- and excellent new people to follow. I offer all these suggestions with pride. I know they will enrich your day.

This is a slightly upsetting story, but it has a happy ending. Maybe you can learn from her experience. Also, @karencarrens is one of our regular contributors to The Daily Whistle Stops. She has assembled some wonderful tutorials in her Bookmarkable Series, featuring educational information on how to do things on Steemit and elsewhere ... making videos, reducing your images, organizing your gif files, etc. This lady is worth following!

@eonwarped is fast becoming one of my favorite people. He is charming, helpful, positive and his energy is marvelous! Sometimes, too, his way of phrasing things in English just slays me. He can be like poetry on the page ... all by accident. Learn more in this piece about his chocoholic habit!

Steemit, Discord and the internet itself offer a world -- literally the whole wide world and all its potential!! -- of collaboration possibilities for people looking for other people whose talents can merge with theirs to create something wonderful together. Maybe something in this piece will bring a response from you, even if it is just another idea of your own to contemplate and act on. (Inspiration is where you find it!)

If you're new to Steemit ... or maybe even if you're not so new ... here are a couple of little things @moderndayhippie learned recently you might like to know. @moderndayhippie is an interesting writer who recently made the decision to quit a job he couldn't stand and spend his time instead savoring the joy of self-discovery and self-actualization. It was a step that took courage and faith ... and maybe some posts on his blog can help you follow his example. Humanity itself is moving more and more toward this choice. I'm all for helping it move faster. Don't stop reading his blog with just this one post. He has lots to say!

I've read a number or articles through the years by psychologists and sociologists commenting on the dark themes, danger, prevalent violence and less-than-covert hostility on display in fairytales and nursery rhymes for children. As a student of the human condition, this series interests me. I'd like to see these pieces done with a little more length, depth and personal reaction / commentary ... but it's a start. It's also provocative food for thought.

This is a poem -- and one of the few legitimate uses of all-centered texts in a blog post. Poems themselves have a visual component as well as an auditory one. Poems aren't usually my thing. (I've read too much awful poetry -- and fiction, too -- in my life!) It takes something special for one to catch my attention. This one did. It's not perfect, but it makes you think. Have a look.

This is a musical piece. You may even know the song. @calebleejl is a talented performer ... and it's a catchy rendition. I've played it half a dozen times ... and if @catweasel can stand it, I may play it more. (He can go under his own headphones if he doesn't want to listen. He knows I go on kicks like this. Food, music, authors, television programs. It's part of who I am.)

This is a game review. Gaming is not my thing but lots of people love it. @tfame3865 writes game reviews (mostly for Android). He writes long, long, long complete game reviews. Anything you ever wanted to know about a game, you'll find here. He clearly loves his subject. If you're a game lover, too ... perhaps you've found a kindred soul. Peek inside, but watch your step. It's a long slide down to the end of his posts!

If you're looking for other quality posts to read,
these are links to other worthwhile curation projects.

  • @catweasel and @enchantedspirit do a project very similar to this one called The Magnificent Seven. It is published every couple of days or so on his blog. There are about 15 of them so far.

  • @mitneb devotes her efforts to The @mitneb Curation Trail Project Daily Report. She focuses on finding newcomers to Steemit whose first language is not English. She finds some interesting people. She also includes some of her own "most interesting articles" at the end of her posts.

  • @ethandsmith is doing podcasts about other pieces he enjoyed from The Steem Engine's membership. Look for ones like this ---> The STEEM Engine Express Episode 3. There are (obviously) two previous ones as I write this.

  • The Daily Whistle Stops -- found at the @thesteemengine account publishes one of the best general audience curation collections on Steemit if I do say so myself. Go ahead, ask me about it. I'll be happy to say it again. There are about 18 posts to enjoy at the moment. The group itself is astonishingly new for the amount of raw talent assembled there. If you create exceptionally fine content and especially if you consider it undervalued, check this out. It could change your whole Steemit adventure!

  • @goldendawne is the head writer for The Daily Qurator. Again, if you're a producer of quality content on Steemit, you might want to join @qurator ... if you haven't already. They make it worth your while and they're a lot easier than I am to get along with.

  • Finally, @shadowspub does the redoubtable grandmother of all curation efforts on Steemit, The Steemit Ramble. You can find plenty of issues from it on her blog. She also hosts a Thursday discord feature (twice every Thursday, so you have a chance to catch at least one) Pimp Your Post Thursday. You can find out more about it also on her blog

The author of this list of curated posts found here, there and everywhere on Steemit is @enchantedspirit whose mostly metaphysical writing can be found on her own blog.

Hi @enchantedspirit! You have received 0.1 SBD tip + 0.02 SBD @tipU from @tattoodjay :)

Check out new tipuvote! feature :)

Thanks for sharing this some real interesting looking posts that I must visit

Tip!

Bless your heart ... thank you for stopping by for a visit! And thank you for the tip. They go a long way in here!!

I really do think the work you do on here is wonderful and should be supported one tip! Is hardly enough Support

Honored to be included in The Inbox Runneth Over inaugural edition and appreciate your comments on the post. It's a testament to the amazing team members of The STEEM Engine that a second curation post is needed :)

Thank you for stopping by. I appreciate your support every bit as much as you appreciate mine. (I'm amazed at you moms who manage to keep a household together, raise kids, write blog posts and still handle stuff in Discord. I need lessons in time management!!)

Thanks for the mention! I'm touched. Maybe I should do some intentional poetry :)

Thanks just for being you. That alone is a delight!

Thanks for the mention @enchantedspirit! You always introduce me to new Steemians and great content! Resteemed.

Bless you for checking out my new project ... and for being part of it. (Like you had a choice.) But I know that like me you're always looking for new and interesting people. If we can help each other find that ... we're ahead of the game!!

Thank you so much for the mention :)!

Thank you for stopping by. I wish you well on your collaboration efforts. You're on the right track about "joining forces" with people who can help you create more than you can do on your own!

Thank you for your efforts. Recognising others' work can be as difficult as creating one. Good selection I read through them all and commented on some :D
Keep it up

Thank you very much. I'm sure they appreciate it. I know I do. Stop by again when I have a new selection to show you. You may enjoy it as well!!

thanks so much for the feature! glad that you loved listening to it. sorry that @catweasel didn't though ;)

I did enjoy it, @calebleejl. @enchantedspirit was just pointing out her habit of listening to something 10, 20, occasionally 30 times in a row. I usually want a break after five. Or a nap.

Trust me, I'm a doctor.

Catweasel-c.png

HAHAHAHA! ok I got you! doctor's orders ;)

Don't get me wrong. It's not that he didn't enjoy it ... like the first dozen times. It's just that I can really go wild over something I like, @calebleejl . He's learned this about me. So will you if you stick around. I encourage you to do that.

hahaha! I definitely will stick around :)
