Coincheck Loses $400M of Crypto - Halts Trading
A major Japanese exchange reported losing nearly $400,000,0000 worth of NEM, one of the biggest crypto hacks in history. While they know where it was sent, they are following up to investigate whether or not they can recover it. After profuse apologies to their customers, all crypto currency trading was halted until they can sort things out.

That’s really bad for those affected. I hope the culprits can be tracked and prosecuted while returning the stolen XEM somehow.
I never considered that they would actually get the money back - I guess I have been so trained into believing that once crypto is gone - it's gone - but if they get it back then it might set a precedent . I would think the people that stole it would liquidate it immediately to minimize the chances of it being taken back somehow.

doesn't look like its affecting it too badly - the top 5 coins are all up right now - surprising considering how large a market japan is and it was supposed to be a large exchange - I'm not real familiar with it though - it must not represent enough of the market volume to make a difference
