Contest: Crypto Cage Match #2
Win more FREE SBD!
Hi Steemians - We're doing Crypto Cage Matches again - We didn't get a lot of participation last week and so there were no winners. I was obviously hoping that more people would get on board - especially where free SBD is concerned - but I am still a newer account and don't have as much exposure as some of the more established contests yet.
That's OK though - for each contest with no payout- the prize pool gets larger. Remember, we need at least 5 people to join us for there to be a payout.
The prize pool is currently at $4.05 SBD.
You can win Steem Dollars just by picking the winner!
Its easy:
Choose your winner from the contenders
In the comments section, write your selection and prediction for it's price
The Steemian who picks the winning coin and has the closest guess to its value is the Winner
Winners break down as follows:
1st Place - 70%
2nd Place - 20%
Winners take 90% of the post payout in Steem Dollars when I receive them.
Match ENDS AT: Sunday 5:00 pm Pacific Time on 1/14/18 at 5pm Pacific Time
The winner will be announced on the following Monday based on Monday's price
Steem Dollar payouts will happen when I receive the post payout
Here are some examples of how to pick your winners:
Lets say that contenders are : Verge Vs Luman
Prices at the start of the match
XVG = .00001264
XLM = .00003642
You will be predicting which one will have the most growth by the following Monday.
You also need to guess what the new price is going to be
So your comment might look like this:
XLM .00003700
or
Lumen .00003700
*Use either the name of the coin or the symbol
That means that you think Luman will achieve the largest gain by next Monday and that it's price will be .00003700 (3700 Satoshi). If your prediction is the closest one, then you win 70% of post payout. Second place winners gets 20% of the post payout.
Its that simple!
Here is another Example:
Contenders are Ripple (XRP) Vs Ethereum(ETH) - Match starts at 5:00 PM Pacific Time
Price at begining of Match:
XRP - 0.00014118
ETH - 0.05618610
You predict that Ripple will experience more growth – so you write up :
XRP - .00014200
This means you think XRP will experience more growth and will be at 14,200 satoshi by the following Monday
If your prediction is the closest , you will win the prize in Steem Dollars.
Winners are paid out every 7 days when I get the post pay out.*
*There must be at least 5 participants - otherwise the match is cancelled and post earnings will get pushed to the next match.
THERE WERE NO WINNERS LAST WEEK - THE MINIMUM NUMBER OF PARTICIPANTS (5) WAS NOT REACHED
THIS WEEKS PRIZE POOL IS $4.05 SBD
This weeks contenders:
CARDANO(ADA) .00005138
vs
NEM (XEM) .00009700
Which one will gain the most by next Monday?
UPDATE!!
Deadline for entry has passed
*Minimum # of participants was not met - all proceeds from this post + the previous prize pool of $4.05 will be pushed the next match
All Participants of Crypto Cage Match #2 will receive .25 SBD as a consolation prize and will be automatically entered into a special drawing to held in Crypto Cage Match #3
I hope you will all will join me for the next Crypto Cage Match - I plan to keep running one each week and eventually we are going to have more than 5 participants and we will start to have some winners - meanwhile the prize pool will continue to grow until we have a winner. Thank you for your support
Let @artz know to add to his contest compilation. That might get more exposure. I would play but I don’t know much about crypto. One day! Best of luck.
thank you very much for the advice! - don't worry about not knowing enough about crypto - this is basically a guessing game anyway - just pick one of them with a random price - we need 5 participants in order for it to pay out - so would be helping out someone else even if you don't win - thanks again! and thanks for the upvote!
Ok.. I choose cardano with a target of $1.3
thank you!
Best of luck to you!
I cant believe there werent many entires for such a contest....it is fun :)
thanks! I think it just needs time to gather some momentum - if all of you keep coming back each week, it will keep growing and so should the prize pool. I am thinking of doing a daily contest if we can get enough participants - that way there are more opportunities to win more free SBD - thanks helping to support it - if you resteem it maybe we can get even more traction. Make it a great day!
Sure :)
thanks for the resteem!

Looks like you have a new contestant! I'm leaving my old acct for now and doing group blogging. No time to Steemit alone. Following you on here too since you're very cool. Must be a Californian thing. (I'm originally from CA, thus, including myself) :)
well thank you - I appreciate that! what's your guess?
Still with the XEM 0.00015972. Can’t double vote!
ahh... got it ... I just made the connection and realized that you are butterb also - thanks for participating... we have more activity than last week, but not at the 5 we need yet...
Hope you’ll get that exposure!

Just saw that you sent a consolation prize. I didn't expect it, but thank you! Have you been doing better with your contest? I see a lot of contests require the participants to resteem. Perhaps that would also help?
Your challenge was added to Steemit Contest Compilation (08.01-14.01): Win free SBD and STEEM for current week.
Thank you @jorlauski for giving Steemians (especially minnows) a chance to get free SBD.
and thank YOU for helping me to promote this!
NEM (XEM) next boat will go to $ 3.30

Sorry to say...but cancelling the whole thing is ridiculous...hope you find your participants...Im out. :)
that bums me out because I need your support now more than ever... I was actually planning on giving everybody some kind of consolation prize for participating... But don't take off on me now, we are just starting to get this thing kicked off
cancelling is a bad move especially on the day its gonna end...
Look... it's not like I wasn't torn about it myself --but I specified in the rules that Sunday was the deadline to have 5 participants otherwise the match would be cancelled and proceeds would be pushed to the next match...and I was even willing to let it go past the 5pm deadline if we could get anyone else on board. I want to give a prize away. I want there to be a winner. But I also want to try to stay consistent with the guidelines that I outlined.
Perhaps your right - that cancelling it for lack of participation isn't the best way to go about it - I'm still learning too and your feedback about it means a lot to me. The next match will have more though put into how to address this. Maybe you have some suggestions for what to do if less than 5 people join - or do you think we should do away with 5 person minimum altogether?
