Hi Steemians - We're doing week 3 of Block'Em Sock'Em Crypto Cage Matches. We had more participation last week than before but we still don't have a winner and the prize pool is growing. I know that some of the contestants were not happy about cancelling the last match due to lack of participation. I would like to thank @allanjohnson20 for bringing it to my attention and helping me to rethink how I do the prize payouts.

You see.. My thinking was that if I am going to payout the winnings for the match with the post payout then the post should have at least 5 people in it to help grow the prize pool - after all the prize pool isn't going to grow itself. The idea is that as it catches on, more and more people would participate and the prize pool would be hefty, thus ensuring that winners are happy and get sizable payouts. But if less than 5 people join the match and vote then there is not much prize to share, so the match is canceled and the prize pool is pushed forward to the next week so it can snowball into a strong healthy payout for the next matches winner. Thus, it may be possible that a match doesn't have enough people and is cancelled - But I hate not giving out a prize!

So in this week's match I have a special bonus for everyone

I want everyone who plays to have fun and to feel like they have an equal chance at winning no matter how many people participate.

Remember, we need at least 5 people to join us for there to be a payout.
 

But...

Make your predictions as usual..

A) All contestants who upvote and make a prediction are automatically entered into a raffle
B) At the end of the match a name is drawn at random
C) Winner of the raffle gets 10% of the this post payout

Even if we have less than 5 contestants there will be a raffle winner

Its easy:

1. Choose your winner from the contenders

2. In the comments section, write your selection and prediction for it's price

3. The Steemian who picks the winning coin and has the closest guess to its value is the Winner

Winners break down as follows:

1st Place - 70%

2nd Place - 20%

Winners take 90% of the post payout in Steem Dollars when I receive them.

Match ENDS AT: Thursday 5:00 pm Pacific Time on 1/18/18 at 5pm Pacific Time

The winner will be announced on Friday 1/19/18 based on the day's price at 5pm

Here are some examples of how to pick your winners:

             Lets say that  contenders are : Verge Vs Luman

                    Prices at the start of the match 

                    XVG =  .00001264
                    XLM =  .00003642

You will be predicting which one will have the most growth by the following Monday.

You also need to guess what the new price is going to be

                So your comment might look like this: 

                             XLM  .00003700 
                                      or
                             Lumen  .00003700

*Use either the name of the coin or the symbol

That means that you think Luman will achieve the largest gain by next Monday and that it's price will be .00003700 (3700 Satoshi). If your prediction is the closest one, then you win 70% of post payout. Second place winners gets 20% of the post payout.

Its that simple!

Here is another Example:

Contenders are Ripple (XRP) Vs Ethereum(ETH) - Match starts at 5:00 PM Pacific Time

Price at begining of Match:

XRP - 0.00014118

ETH - 0.05618610

You predict that Ripple will experience more growth – so you write up :

     XRP - .00014200  

This means you think XRP will experience more growth and will be at 14,200 satoshi by the following Monday

If your prediction is the closest , you will win the prize in Steem Dollars.

Winners are paid out every 7 days when I get the post pay out.*

*There must be at least 5 participants - otherwise the match is cancelled and post earnings will get pushed to the next match.
