John McAfee reports Bitcoin Ban in China will not Extend to Mining
John McAfee is the chief of MGT and a cybersecurity visionary. He recently reported that China's ban for bitcoin will not extend to mining.
In his Twitter post of a picture of him together with Jihan Wu, Bitmain co-founder and Roger Ver, Bitcoin Cash proponent, he mentioned that Wu was explaining to them what is China's position on cryptocurrency.
Rumors has been circulating that China is going to stop Bitcoin mining in the country following the ICO and Bitcoin exchange ban.
One Twitter user asked in the comments about China to stop Bitcoin mining in the country and McAfee said “they are not”.
He even further his statement to another user that Wu is more connected to China than anyone else and thus his words are worth listening to with regards to China's cryptocurrency regulation.
One of Ethereum's Metropolis Upgrade is now Officially Being Tested
Officially, the first part of Ethereum's long anticipated hard fork has officially been tested on the testnet.
The simulated Metropolis upgrade was executed on September 19, 2017 on Ethereum's testnet, Ropsten.
It is currently undergoing some troubleshooting for a few weeks before it could be implemented on the main Ethereum blockchain.
The hard fork will improve Ethereum network's functionality while minimizing possible exploits and also providing a way for novel cryptography on the platform.
As predicted, the hard fork will occur on the mainnet sometime around October 09, 2017 but developers will have a formal announcement regarding the exact date of the upgrade.
A Major and State-owned Telecom in Switzerland Adopts to Blockchain
Swisscom is a telecom giant in Switzerland and has recently created a new business utilizing the blockchain technology.
The new service is called “Swisscom Blockchain AG” which will be focused on several service such as enterprise-facing solutions and support for companies who are planning to launch initial coin offerings or ICOs.
A few months before the launch, Swisscom joined the Hyperledger project. It has also been a member of a country-based blockchain consortium together with SIX, an exchange operator and Zürcher Kantonalbank, a major bank in the country.
