A Leading Travel Agency in Japan Accepts Bitcoin
H.I.S. is one of Japan's major travel agency and is currently starting to accept bitcoin payments via Bitflyer.
This partnership is huge in Japan as H.I.S. And Bitflyer are both major companies in their respective industry.
Together with bitcoin payment acceptance, it will also offer some bitcoin-exclusive tour packages.
The purpose why the company started to embrace bitcoin is that to provide convenience for their domestic customers and to attract more new markets.
They have a total of 295 branches in the country and 230 branches in 66 countries outside Japan.
A Solar-powered Broadband Network Provider in West Africa Launches ICO
Based in Guinea-Bissau, Cajutel, a Swiss-owned company began a mission tp provide internet access through a solar-powered broadband internet network in the West African area.
Cajutel plans to fund the project through an Initial Coin Offering using Ethereum tokens.
Through this project, it could help Guinea-Bissau's and surrounding countries' economy and education system.
The company believes that by creating a solar-powered high-speed internet infrastructure could reduce the cost, improve reliability and eventually provide internet access to large number of people for the very first time.
The ICO has already started August 18, 2017 with 720,000 Ethereum-based tokens to issue, 60,000 for bounties and marketing costs and 1,000,000 to be retained for existing shareholders for a total of 1.78 mln tokens in circulation.
Japan's Major Internet Company to invest $3 Million for Bitcoin Mining
GMO Internet Co., Ltd is one Internet giants in Japan and is currently spending $3 million worth of investment to start a bitcoin mining operation in 2018.
Japan is one of the countries that recognizes bitcoin as a legal payment method which was April 2017.
GMO entered the bitcoin industry and even launched a cryptocurrency exchange in May 2017.
Based on a statement released by GMO, they will be operating a next-generation mining center using renewable energy and advanced semiconductor chips in Northern Europe.
They will also be providing a cloud mining space for customers to rent mining hashrate in the future.
Malaysia to Legalize Bitcoin
In contrast to recent Chinese cryptocurrency banning, other countries are starting to embrace bitcoin and the whole cryptocurrency industry more.
One of them is Malaysia where a statement from Malaysia's Bank Negara governor, Tan Sri Muhammad ibrahim indicates that the country might legalize the cryptocurrency during a Global Symposium on Developing Financial Institutions in the country.
He said that Bank Negara is currently formulating cryptocurrency guidelines.
Although his statement is not straight-forward, it suggests that the government is going to legalize bitcoin as a currency after these guidelines is formally implemented.
Eventually, this legalization will benefit the country as it will attract more cryptocurrency investors in the country.
