Dating Scene
An unfortunate story unfolded in India's Chhattisgarh. A man went on a date with his 17 year old minor girlfriend. Two bikers showed up on the scene. They gang raped the girl in front of him.
On september 2, the man realized that the rapists had told some youth in the village about the incident. Unable to find peace, the man took his own life at his own house.
The girl disclosed the rape case to the police. Consequently, Ishwar Das (22) and Khem Kanwar (21) were arrested for gang-rape and abetment of suicide.
According to the Lancet medical journal, 37% of women and 22% of men in global suicide deaths are in India.
