It's been brought to my attention by a few people that the rules of the contest are a bit confusing, and while a number of people seem to understand just fine and are playing the game without problem, I admit that the rules are a bit confusing. I mentioned in the OP that I'm new to this and making it up as I go, so please bear with me.

I'm going to be making an attempt to simplify the rules soon, and also to add some extra context that people have mentioned that I overlooked. But as I said before, I'm new at this.. Please be patient and try to understand.

Also, a new rule and just a rule for the judges.
Judges can only vote at the end of the competition to give a chance for everyone to submit their entry and have it be viewed. UNLESS a judge is so busy that they think they will be unavailable to vote when the challenge ends, if that's the case.. Then a judge can vote earlier.

Moving on to the contest now. I recently created a challenge to come up with the best contest idea and even though that challenge is still ongoing and hasn't finished yet.. One of the ideas was so good I decided to implement it as soon as I could. He hasn't technically won the challenge, and someone else can still win that one, yet.. Either way I feel like this idea is too important, so today we are starting the 5th challenge and it will be called "deliberator's help a beginner quest."

The idea is to search the #introduceyourself tag and go find someone new who has recently introduced themselves to the steemit community and who is a lower reputation than you are, and then you are sort of going to "sponsor" this beginner. Your mission after you find the beginner you want to help is...
To write up a short little paragraph or a couple paragraph explanation of why you think we should pick your beginner to be the beginner we choose to celebrate this round. (You can write a longer one or even get extra creative and do a video or a song or something like that if you really want to, but.. As a minimum you should put in at least a paragraph or two of text in your entry)

Also.. Since this is a "help the beginners" quest, please try to help your beginner with any questions they may have about steemit in general. If you can help them with something they are having trouble understanding or teach them more about how all this works, then I think that will be a great thing! :D

This contest was inspired by this post by deliberator, so any of you can thank him if you want to. :)

The rules are..

You must create your own blog post on your page in regards to the challenge with a title mentioning the specific contest, IE something like.. "Information Finding Championship - Season 1 : Round 5 entry" and then link it here on this page in the comments below. And you also have to use the #informationfinding tag in your blog post as well.

Whoever brings the best entry as voted upon by myself and the judges in relation to what I request wins the round.

For this challenge.. If there's a tie.. Ummm... Then I'll get a guest judge to come in and make the final decision.

The winner will be decided by whoever gets the most votes.
The only people who can vote in a qualifying sense are myself and the four judges I've selected and we will vote by leaving a comment on the submission that we like the most and say something like.. "I vote for this one" and a reason why we voted would be good too, but is not mandatory.

I would also like to say this challenge is a team effort in a sense, both the pitch of the beginners sponsor and the actual introduction post of the beginner will both be considered and weighed in the total vote. AND.. The two will 50/50 share the reward of this challenge post.

You have until this challenges post payout ends to submit your post.

The challenge will finish after 7 days when the post ends and provides its payout cycle and unless there is a tie, the one with the most votes will get a level up and a point to go towards their long term win and the steem/sbd from the challenge (minus the 25% or so for curation)

Just in case anyone is confused.. To clarify again in regards to the rules.

I will need some time for this one, I am still trying to develop round 4 entry. It is time demanding :)

It is.. I'm to the point where I can barely respond to the messages, so it's not just you! I need to slow down soon too. But I think it was important to get started fast like that to bring more people in to play. And it looks like we have about 4-5 active members.. So.. I'm pretty happy with that! :) I think it's a good start and will grow more in time. ._.Thanks for your patience and awesome unique energy that you bring with you. :D

Thank you for the mention. And this is a superb round 5. I will have to give this one a miss, as I am very low on bandwidth the last few days. So may not be able to help the person I find with even a reply. So I humbly step aside for this round. & wish everyone else good luck that partakes.

You're welcome. Bummer that you're going to miss this one. You mention low bandwidth the last few days, but you do know you have a whole week to do each challenge right? Just wanna make sure you know you don't have to do it today or right away or even in a few days, you have a whole week.
Though if you still want to step down from this one I understand and thanks for gifting us with this awesome idea about helping newcomers to steemit! I think this is probably the best and most important challenge so far. :)

Well bandwidth is bad for on average 8 - 10 hours in the day, and I have been looking after my daughter at night, as she has been ill, so I have very little time, and with little time, I would be letting down anyone I would be trying to help, also there are much more experienced people on here than me. So the new guys are in safe hands with you people. Getting this started is satisfying enough for me.

Since last few days I could not read your posts, I really missed these contests and I regret it. I am running out of time nowadays.

Hey rocksg! I think you would do great in this competition with your artwork. :) Would love to have you.
If you'd like.. I'll go grab the links of the various challenges for you so you don't have to scroll down?

I should probably gather them anyways as I want to make a post tomorrow and the next day letting people know that the first couple challenges are going to be ending soon and that now is their last chance to get in on the first couple rounds.

Okay so.. Here you go. Good luck!

Another great contest ! this one I love as its engaging with newbies who will much appreciate the support : )

Agreed! I really look forward to seeing the results of this one and I hope we get more entries cause there's only 2 so far, but.. I have a feeling we will. I think it's an awesome and important challenge. :)

I agree I might just make a suggestion my self on a newbie I like. How is your upvote power holding up ? hammered like mine lol #needaholidayappolo

#needaholidayappolo

Lol! indeed... And my voting power is holding up alright I guess.. Now it is anyways, a number of days ago not so much!

Lol your doing very well have you joined appics Apoly ? its like this but instagram type ?

Thanks! :) and.. No I haven't. Is that for steemit? We already have steepshot which does pretty much the exact same thing don't we?

Steemshot is steemits own not really got the push. appics uses smt but is independent has its own plans and is also doing a bounty at the moment! : ) AND you can sell your steem directly from wallat into XAP so have some steem ready to convert at ICO : ) start power down now! ICO 28 march. this way you should get the pop!

I'll look into it. Thanks for the info.

This seems to be a very interesting contest.I should give it a try
-cheers-

Would be happy to have you give it a try! :) Lemme know if you need any help understanding anything.

this seems to be a different contest than other ordinary ones :) great job

So cool. Will have to brainstorm and take a few days off and get working on this.

Yeah.. I have a feeling you're going to come up with an awesome little RPG story for this one! Take your time :) I'm pretty sure I'm not the only one looking forward to seeing what you come up with this time!

Got my work cutout for me but I'll have to think of something before the weekend as I'll be away in Copenhagen visiting another fellow Canadian... Hopefully the next few days here!

Here is my entry

Round 5 Entry. To conclude; why did I pick Katie G. She is new to steemit, she has an interest in knowing the truth, she is a citizen reporter and I think we need more of them. And in her intro post, she asked for help, and shared some nice pictures.
