ColorChallenge SundayPurple: Amethyst Geode
I have always thought that geodes were miraculous. And I was surprised that this image looked like one, when I was experimenting in a 3D program. I didn't intend it to be a gemstone, but when I saw the spiky interior, I shifted it's color to purple to make it look like amethyst.
This image was made with a 3D sphere, with a camera inside. I call this method "spherical art" because it captures scenes from inside a 3D sphere. You can see more examples at sphericalart.com
