Pink Rose. Day 15. Art. Collage. Photography.
And a pink rose.
Appears through the veils.
~Ally.
As part of my next Seven-Day Covenant, I'd like to work on a single piece that will incorporate some of the processes I've been working with recently in the development of my Eco-collages. There may be some 'experimentation' along the way and I'll share that as well.
Elements of my Eco-collages have been giving me ideas for starting points for watercolour paintings. And watercolour paintings will be starting points for other Eco-collages. That's my current 'vision' for this new phase of my work: Appreciating that this may change as I move into making the actual work.
I did start working with some small watercolour washes today as planned. However it was too late to photograph them. So for now, I can only show you the very beginnings of what I've started to work with today.
Photo Transfer.
A photocopy of one of my photographs was transferred onto watercolour paper. Looks simple enough but it required a lot of experimentation to obtain a reasonably clear image without it falling apart. I'll explain this process another time.
It's your world for the moment.
~Georgia O'Keeffe.
New work as yet Untitled.
Unlike my Eco-collages so far, the new pieces will be in a square format.
I'll be using the elements that I felt were working within these smaller works to develop larger scale square works.
The elements I'll use from Easter Rose.
- The three squares on either side.
- The square of coloured threads.
- The arch of coloured threads
- The four hydrangeas.
- The eight golden triangles
Fourteen Day Covenant.
I have worked with many traditional art modalities: drawing, painting, printmaking, collage, sculpture and photography. And at this stage of my Art Journey I'm seeing a lot of relevant relationships and connections converging within my art-making practice.
My Eco-collages will be available at my Homesteaders Co-Op store: Eco Curios and any images derived from them will be available as limited edition digital prints at my Makers Place Gallery.
My Fourteen Day Covenant.
A creative who is learning to trust the mystery of what will be.
A spirit that is willing to fly into new creative realms and share the journey. ~Ally.

So beautiful, Ally! It has somewhat a surreal presence on my screen, half digital and half traditional ? What a precious creation <3
Lovely, you are very talented. 💕
One word: beautiful. I like how the components looks a little messy but still amazingly work together with each other to create these wonderful art :)

Wow, this piece is incredible. So many layers and textural detail!
I like the initial look so far. Are those water drops on the pedals?
They look amazing! I am simply speechless!
