LAST Promo-STEEM Christmas Event! | Give back to someone else!
Picture made by @artistchristian
Welcome To The Last Christmas Event!
Intro
One of my favourite holidays is around the corner: Christmas. A time of getting together with our loved onces and giving gifts to each other. Especially, the kids in our family gets really excited for this day.
What I like most about Christmas is, apart from receiving presents, is the joy I see on my family member's faces when they receive their gifts. Nothing beats the grin they get when there are tearing down the paper wrappage. When I give presents to my little cousins it's funny how they always start jumping.
However due to various circumstances like family moving away etc... we have celebrated Christmas less often like we used to.
Many people in the world don't celebrate Christmas or don't even have the chance to celebrate it. Steemit has connected many individuals around the world and has gifted many people opportunities that were not possible before, which is in line with the spirit of Christmas: Giving back to others.
This year I found a new family and that is the promo-steem community. Our group is relative new but I already feel connected to many.
Therefore I am holding a Christmas event with as central theme:
Giving
Source
How it works
Each 3 days up to Christmas (25 december) there will be a different event for which there are prizes to win.
For the Last event:
This last event will be about giving to someone else.
Write about a Steemian who you think deserves to be rewarded for his or her efforts. Who is it? And what has this person done for you or for the community?
You can write about multiple Steemians! Make a different comment for each one and make sure to explain why. I will vote on all of your serious comments.
3 people will be chosen by me and they will receive 100% of the post rewards + 10 STEEM!
As a curator for @curie and @ocd I will curate everyone's blog who have written a decent comment.
For people who can't write in english we have translators in the promo-steem community for the following languages:
- Spanish
- Filipino
- Indonesian
- SPECIAL COMMUNITY EVENT People from the #promo-steem community who nominate each other and gets chosen will both receive 10 STEEM!! The requirement is:
- The person who is nominated must be must be from another continent.
For the people who want to join our community here is the link!

When I joined the Steemit platform, everything was so overwhelming. I was confused and every post I wrote earned 0.00$. I remember joining a few discord groups and randomly chatting up people. Most people were happy to respond and be friends but one particularly stood out to me.
He was willing to hold my hand and walk me through the process. Steemit is like a full time job so posting, commenting and connecting with people on chat can take the bulk of your time. So when you see someone being so selfless and walking you through everything, hold on to them.
So @greenrun I just want to appreciate you for your selflessnesss and answering every newbie questions that I asked you. To this day, you still congratulate me when one of my post does well. You also did not sugarcoat anything and gave me constructive criticism. The best thing is I still see you supporting other people and you have taught me to be the same way to other people.
@jeanwandimi, it was a pleasure as I got the same treatment as a newbie. Special thanks to you for nominating me and @futurethinker for doing this.
We need more people like you on steemit! Thank you for helping others out!
Thank you too for doing this. I appreciate the thoughts.
Thanks @futurethinker and @greenrun thanks again. :)
@jeanwandimi you are welcome.
It is a fact that most people who are good at giving, do it without expecting anything in return. They do it from a place of gratefulness, I suppose. How else would you explain that @fulltimegeek delegated almost all his steem power of about 363,507 SP to strangers leaving only 2,939 SP for himself.
I insist that the recipients were strangers because at least one person in Nigeria received this delegation without having asked for it. @fulltimegeek also delegated it without seeking gratification from the thankfulness of the recipients. Because he did this, his steem power is presently less than the least steem power he delegated to one person. He still posts on Steemit and talks to people, using his remaining steem power to do a lot of upvoting.
Before the delegation, he held contests in which several people won SBD. @fulltimegeek is my hero.
I also want to talk about @gigafart. Initially when I signed up on Steemit, I had a lot of good content, at least in my estimation but I neither received upvotes nor comments. From nowhere, @gigafart started upvoting my posts and this encouraged me to improve and be more creative. It seems he is hardly online and I have not spoken with him before but his upvotes are as sure as rain and tax.
Finally, there is @rok-sivante who came all out to support Steemians from developing world, curating their contents and literally putting food on their tables.
There are so many heroes on here but I will stop with these three.
Thank you @futurethinker for this Giving opportunity. I give my gratitude to you and all the heroes. Merry Christmas!
Fulltime geek curated me when I just started! I like him too!
It is not a coincidence. It feels good to be right.
@futurethinker thank you for this opportunity to celebrate and reward selfless steemians.
I Nominate @ifioklee, he deserves an award. He brought me to the community, painstakingly took me through the process, I'm not the only one, a lot of other members of the uyo community have received generosity from him
@greenrun I want to appreciate you for supporting me when i almost gave up on the community, sometime last week i was frustrated but your comments on my posts showed that you believed in me and my success in the community
@samstickks thank you for starting steemit uyo community, despite the fact that the response was initially poor and discouraging, you have been persistent, bringing us in, making us grow and inspiring us to help others
@ejemai i listened to you last week Saturday and I was inspired to stay and grow in steemit, i read your blog and i look forward to the time I'll do amazing things for the community
@xpressng thanks for answering my very many questions and explaining things to me, you deserve an award
Thank you too.
Well, I was initially thinking of making a whole new post to do this, but since the opportunity is presenting itself this way, here I go.
The first person on my list is @acidyo. I am almost certain he will not be needing this reward even if he is eventually chosen but I must say, he was the first person to show me kindness on steemit. It was my fourth day on steemit, my bandwidth was zero and I was left confused and helpless. I resorted to just chatting since I could not make any new post beyond comments. I lamented in the channel and acidyo responded by delegating 500 steem power to me for free. That singular act will stick to my mind perhaps for years to come. By the way, he is yet to undelegate the SP.
The second steemian on my list is no other person than @seyiodus. A fellow Nigerian but based in South Africa. We met in the #promo-steem and we hit it off like siblings since then. She is quite intelligent and kind in a way words cannot qualify. She runs a christian based supportproject for people to share their testimonies, known as @itestify. The reason I am nominating her is just too numerous for me to count. Lest I forget, she can do with the coin that comes with winning this nomination unlike acidyo.
Next on my list is my brother from another mother, @jajdgenius. We have been friends since the days of twitter and we actually followed each other down here. He is quite humble to a fault and brilliant as well. Jajdgenius is newer than I am on here and has been finding earnings on rewards quite limited but I keep on encouraging him. I am sure his patience will start paying off soon. I just like, might not be able to give more specific reason.
I will not forget @shodiya. I have heard a lot about him from jajdgenius but yet to interact much. I am sure we will still have enough time to blend. He is a member of #promo-steem, a newbie and a good writer. In fact, I am visiting his blog right after posting this.
I could go on and on mentioning and talking about steemians that have imparted in my life positively and might ending up writing over a hundred pages of comment. People like @futurethinker, @leopatra, @zest my South African archeologist, @gbenga that assisted me in signing up through invite, @ehiboss, @arrjey. @suesa and all members of the #steemstem and #nigeria community.
I just want to say thanks to everyone. You all have made steemit worth the while so far
Thanks @gentleshaid.
Thank you for sharing this gentle!
You met a lot of good people along the way!
Thanks again @futurethinker for the contest.
He is the first person I am going to nominate. He is a great person of great personality. He is actually my mentor since we meet online. He has been putting me through and I became a promoter because of him. He has been helping everyone he came across. yeah I can say that 'cus I know. If I have to continue about him then no one will read any other comments again. He really deserve the gift. He is from the "Future". :)
@gentleshaid, a co-mentor on #promo-steem server on discord who is trying to help the newbies on steemit. He write good post also , mostly on science. He has been helping newbies to know their way here on steemit. I might not say much about him but he deserve a gift. He is from Nigeria.
@andywong31 who is a trying his best to bring in more people to steemit and help them out. With his posts, He is making friends in the chatroom especially with the newcomers. He always try to engage with them by teaching them the what-not-to-do's vs the what-to-do's here on steemit and help them as much as he can. He find it very satisfying being able to find quality posts from people that are undervalued and to see their posts being rewarded. He is from the Philippines!
@meanmommy33 who is bringing women together on steemit and into steemit. She is a great woman. She actually give me a gift to show how supportive she is to women on steemit. She also find good/quality post on steemit reward especially the undervalued ones. She is wonderful on her own when you chat with her, you will feel her with the way she will interact with you. She is from Copenhagen, Denmark.
@nairadaddy who is also doing great on steemit. He has brought health to us online and as added value to steemit. He is a doctor as well as a "Crypto addict by choice". Always trying to bring people together. He deserva a gift also. He is also from Nigeria.
@thekittygirl. I just love this woman. She is ready to help anyone at anytime even without you asking her yet. Once she new what that thing is and it's in her capacity, then she is going for it for you. She actually deserve a gift. She is from South Carolina (US).
There are so many people who I can nominate but let me leave it to this few since I am not the only person to do the nomination.
I love you all even if i did not noninate you.
Thanks.
Merry Christmas to everyone.
@seyiodus.
Hey @seyiodus,
Thank you for deeming me appropriate to receive such an honour from @futurethinker. Much love and appreciation from here. Cheers!
MERRY XMAS dear!
#AIR-CLINIC
You are doing great Doc.
First of all, thank you @futurethinker for allowing me to be part of the #Promo-STEEM and for being very generous organizing this cool contest.
Since I just turned like 2 months in @steemit I haven't met so many people yet, although there are 2 steemeans that I am thankful for, @lindahas and @krazykrista.
Since @lindahas is the one from another continent (Europe), my participation comment will be for her:
Sometimes for a newbie, it could be a little bit frustrated when you post your story or information post but you cant reach to many people because you dont understand how the ecosystem works. However, @lindahas saw one of my first post ANIMAL LOVER - How we saved a sloth she liked it and she promoted it, since she is a curator from the new Whaleshares Curation Team, she selected my post to be presented in a live curation discussion. Thanks to her, I discovered Discord, and that is how I started to meet a lot of people. She and @krazykrista are always there to help and answer questions or at least guide us. They both inspire and are a perfect example for other users to also help someday the upcoming newbies!
A crypto hug for everybody!
Thank you for the nomination! I know it is hard when you first get on the platform, God I know how hard it is! That is why I love it when I see people actually trying, without plagiarism and with soul and it breaks my heart when those people are not recognized. I pour my soul in this platform, it takes some energy, and I think everybody else who does the same deserves recognition because, after all, we all have talents. Writing, art, photography, love, generosity, understanding and compassion, those are all talents in my eyes and too many good authors/artists/thinkers get buried under the machine, especially under posts that may not be so worthy.
I wish you all amazing holidays and not only these but also the rest of your lives!
Plus, @el-cr deserves the nomination as much as he is one of those souls who helps those in need. And you can say that only by looking at his profile. Generosity dserves recognition, because with more of it, the world would be a much more beautiful place. :)
OK, now that one is not so easy for me to write. Several people come to my mind here, starting with @el-cr who got me to sign up initially. Once he signed up, we helped each-other mutually with tips. The first time I entered a chatroom was the steemit chat, and it was quite intimidating. Everyone seemed to already know eachother, and I suck at just jumping into a conversation. The first people I talked to and who were kind enough to answer my newbie questions were @m31, @futurethinker and @frederikaa , especially @futurethinker who took me under his wing in the #Promo-STEEM Community group. Now I'm grateful to be connected with people like @seyiodus and @arcabuzx and we help eachother mutually within this community. It's really hard for me to nominate just one person...I guess you will have to pick the ones that aren't from Europe lol Merry Xmas everyone!
Thanks Eve. I mentioned you in my latest post.
Oh you did? Thank you!!!! i will go check it out ==)
Hello @futurethinker,
I would like to nominate @meetmysuperego. She is the one who introduce me here, a very persistent and passionate not only being a Steemian but as a person who have a big heart in her advocacies and profession a nurse.
A person that never ask or wait for any reward for all the good deeds she has done.
Today is my 43rd day here in Steemit, without her I would never experience how amazing this platform is. She is very persistent in bugging me to sign up, almost everyday since day one that she joined here but it takes two weeks until I decided to register. I dont have guts like her to write a blog or anything like these things, because I am not confident in my english nor share my thoughts in public, although I have some social networking accounts 😅
At first, Steemit is very confusing and I am having a hard time to figure it out but she is always there to assisst and help me, give tips and informations that I need to know. And now, I am so addicted with Steemit because of her. Haha!
And with her good market strategy, she get to convinced lots of our friends to sign up. Which they are now part of this amazing community.
Due to her passion in here with her brigth idea, we got our 1st Steemit shirt designed by yours truly and sponsored by her.
Our photo just taken last week. Thank you.
MERRY CHRISTMAS EVERYONE!

@futurethinker you are very well appreciated for bringing up this opportunity to make us all have a wonderful Christmas holiday, may God bless you.
The first person I'm selecting is @shodiya. He joined Steemit just about a week ago and he has been doing very great for himself. He is a fast learner and always ready to help out when he is needed. He has put a lot of effort into becoming a better person on this platform and I feel he deserves to be rewarded for his commitment.
The second person is @gentleshaid. He introduced me to steemit because he saw that I have flair for writing and the most heart warming part is that, he left his state to come and pay me a visit just to explain how steemit works to me. I can't forget that favor and since I couldn't pay him back, I will be extremely happy if he is rewarded through this means.
@seyiodus is another wonderful person on this platform. I'm selecting her because she is God fearing and human loving and she is not shy to always tell us about God. Most of her posts are about God which I really appreciate and as a mentor on the discord channel, she has been more than helpful to me in the chat room.
Thanks @jajdgenius for the nomination.
U can be rest assured that you are definitely getting picked in this Xmas 🎄 give away... Congrats in advance... 😀 😀 😁
lolx. you never can tell. it's a contest but thanks.
It's my prayer dat u get picked ooo and I'm sure you know why... 😀 😁 😂 😀 😁
Thank you @futurethinker for this opportunity.
My first nomination goes to @seyiodus. When I joined Steemit, I was clueless and didn't know what to do. Her constant direction and explanations is helping me find my feet. She is kind, attends to everyone nicely and once told me not to be sad when I had challenges. She is a good person.
My second nomination goes to @jajdgenius. He is not the regular kind of guy. His posts are ALWAYS INTERESTING AND NOT REGULAR. He writes from the heart and I will love to see him rewarded.
Third nomination is to @gentleshaid, who indirectly made me join steemit, even though he may not be aware. He writes science just like me and he's very good at it. He motivated me to join and here I am.
Thanks for nominating me @shodiya
thanks shodiya. We will still have time to interact properly one day. soon
