"Elohim..." - Daily Word #72

In the start of the Bible we read from Genesis 1:1...

“In the beginning God (Elohim) created the heavens and the earth.” Source

Elohim means “God” and refers to God’s incredible Power and Might. He is the Supreme One and Only God. And yes He Alone is Sovereign, He is the One that you and I can completely put our trust in Him.

In the short word above we realize that God was before all things created. He was there before time. And He is the Mighty One who created ALL things on earth as it is in the heavens above! Oh What Marvellous works of His Hands.

"The term occurs in the general sense of deity some 2570 times in Scripture. Yet, it is difficult to detect any discrepancy in use between the forms el, eloah, and elohim in Scripture. When indicating the true God, elohim functions as the subject of all divine activity revealed to man and as the object of all true reverence and fear from men." Source

I'm reminded every single day about Elohim, when I go about enjoying His creation; from the Trees to the Animals, to Mountains and the Seas, to the Light of Day and the absence of it that brings about our Night.

And when I look further, I see a multitude of blinking diamonds in the Sky, the Moon, the Stars, even the Galaxies far far away. In Psalm 19:1 it tells it perfectly...

“The heavens are telling of the Glory of God; And their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.” Source

Yes I am comforted that He is not just the God of BIG THINGS, but He is also my God. He cared enough for me. He came down to earth to die for me. Isn't He amazing??

Let's get to know our BIG GOD, who takes time (daily) to reach out His Hand of Love to you and me. Praise be to our God (Elohim).
