"Delight in God..." - Daily Word #40

One of my favourite verses in the bible come from Psalm 1... over the next few days I would like to unpack this Psalm and reveal it's beauty for all to see.

Today I'd like to briefly touch on verses 1 and 2 from the Passion Translation.

It is definitely a JOY to follow God's precepts. His Ways are not drudgery like many would think... following Laws of Dos and Dont's'. (just a few days ago I wrote on being "Bound by the Law..." - Daily Word #37)

In fact, the Bible calls those who follow His Ways "Blessed".

They won’t walk in step with the wicked, nor share the sinner’s way, nor be found sitting in the scorner’s seat. Source

You see the world has many a times painted them as an attractive, glamorous and enticing way to flow, with our life. After all, it is more famous to stand with the IN-crowd than to stand alone and defend something so archaic as thousands of years old Bible. And therefore, it is by CHOICE that we need to step away from following the 'tempting' steps of the wicked, sinners or mockers.

Their pleasure and passion is remaining true to the Word of “I Am,” meditating day and night in his true revelation of light. Source

It's so good to see that the Word captures the words "Pleasure" and "Passion"... and LINK IT with the God, the Great I AM. Q: Is your pleasure and passion in and for the Lord?

That's the reason why the world's ways are always filled with so much PLEASURE and PASSION - in all the wrong sense. It is and will always be the drawcard that pulls us all away from God, so that Day and Night, instead of meditating about the Word, our minds, body and soul are constantly being distracted to so many OTHER things.

And with that, our true REVELATION that will light our path is no longer the Word.

Beware dear fellow believers. Lest we fall away and find our Delight in "other gods".
