I had a very good experience while working for 2 years in the IAD, it was good to my career, my CV, it improved my skills and personality same as for my reputation in the bank where it keeps improving, but after-all i had to transfer to another department.

The management offered me many vacancies, one of them made me felt like it’s something really important, it’s called the “E-banking Division”.

I like its name but no idea what is the E-banking except that it stands for (Electronic banking).

As always, i brought the handbooks and all related papers in order to know better what is the E-banking:

The Electronic Banking Division (EBD) sometimes might be composed to many Departments, such as:

Cards Systems, development, operations departments, customer services, merchant and customer relationship management departments.

Where each of these departments have its own mission and also might be divided to different units and Sub-units.

As a brief, their missions are to create Electronic Cards and process the daily/monthly operations.
Ensure the on-going Cards Online Systems functioning, support, maintenance and regular upgrade, while ensuring highest standards of security of data, with respecting the local and international regulations and security policies, same as their responsibility for the development of the online applications.
They are in charge of processing and controlling the payment settlement transactions on Points of Sale (POS) machines, it also handles the overall business development, by identifying potential new business opportunities related to POS machines, to promote relationship and retain existing customers and ensure sustainable growth of merchant business, same as for the responsibility for managing the relationship of a considerable nation-wide portfolio of merchants and to enhance the cross selling possibilities with the existing customers in order to widen the development of this business.
With mentioning their duties in controlling and maintaining the Automated Teller Machines (ATM).

And much much more duties and responsibilities that are wide and big but actually it seems to be fun working in this Division.

The continuing technological innovation have allowed for a much wider array of banking products and services to become accessible to customers through electronic distribution channels.

As a result, the E-banking Division is mainly responsible for some important operational activities, in addition to managing the bank’s ATM and POS networks and its online services with handling the development of new electronic sections.

In the next part i will talk more about this division due to its importance in nowadays banking transactions and operations globally.
