Diary of a BANKER-Part 13
After year and a half the HR department sent an internal E-mail requesting employees to work at the Internal Audit department (IAD) if the candidate passed the exams, i thought it’s a good idea to try something new so i sent back an E-mail confirming that i will take the exams and i knew it will be easy since i spent time as a CS and being a Teller and Main Teller since the beginning of my career which surely will help me, especially because i gained a good experience (practicing and training new staff which helped me a lot) as well as gaining good reputation in the bank.
I still remember when i had the audit test, really it was not that difficult but the eeriness that came from the exam was enough to scare the hell of anyone under exam.
Well at the end i passed the exams followed by interview with the head of Internal Audit division, who obviously wanted guys like me (not because i am that hard worker but because i never say no).
It took almost a month to prepare my staff and close my CS files at the branch, meanwhile i started to read more about the Internal audit, and here some of their main job:
The internal audit department (IAD) is divided into several categories and sections.
- Section of Branch Internal audit
- Section of Head office audit
- Section of overseas audit
- Section of affiliated companies audit
I read about all of these sections (maybe i will talk about them later) but the most important to me was the Branch audit.
So what is the mission of the branch audit?
The mission of the Audit is to provide an independent, objective assurance and consulting services in order to add value and improve the branche’s operations.
It helps the branch accomplish its objectives by bringing a systematic, disciplined approach to evaluate and improve the effectiveness of risk management, control and governance processes.
This is only a small part or introduction about the mission that the Branch audit has to offer.
