Hello my fretz!

Welcome to my Travel 101 Series, where you'll get tips and tricks on how to make your travels and adventures a hassle-free trip. You're going to learn the ropes of how to become a stress-free traveler.

Its super cold today and its raining non-stop, tropical storm Basyang is really making its presence known all over the country. This gave me an idea on what to post for today.

When traveling, we always want to know the best time to visit in order for us not to waste time and make sure that we have the best vacation ever! In my country, there are certain months of the year that is best for you to travel.

Dry and Wet Season

Unlike other countries that have four seasons the Philippines only has two major seasons. The seasons are categorized based on the rain fall quantity. They are:

Dry Season (Aug-Jan) – Temperature during this season is moderate with very little to no rainfall. This season is cooler and dryer.

Wet Season (May-Oct) – This is distinguished by having a moist and damp weather. Expect tons of rain and strong gusts of winds. Together with humidity and rain, this season can cause typhoons which can come as early as August.

Warm Months: Between March and October

Cool Months: Between November and February

Warmest Month: May

Coolest Month: January

Weather is Unpredictable

Knowing all these things doesn’t assure you that a sunny day today can give you another sunny day tomorrow. Even if its dry season, it doesn’t give you an assurance that there’ll be no rain and typhoons and having the wet season, doesn’t mean that it’s going to rain every single day.

When is the Best and Worst Time to Visit?

My country is basically enclosed by big bodies of water like the Philippine Sea, Pacific Ocean and Celebes Sea. This is why the Philippines are very susceptible to thunderstorms and typhoons throughout the year.

On average, there are about 20 typhoons that come inside the Philippine area of responsibility. The peak of the storm/typhoon season is August and September. This is when a lot of typhoons are coming in and out of the Philippines. Better avoid these months when you come to visit.

If you want an ideal weather and less rain, its best that you can come around without getting any headaches are between the months of January and May.

I do hope this would be a very useful tip for you to travel the Philippines my fretz!

Hehe! It's the same here! It's either just rainy or really hot! Now it's the rainy season for East Malaysia and I'm heading back there for the Lunar New Year

There's a typhoon here right now. We're on the same side so we probably have almost the same weather. :)

ooo... this definitely a post to remember. I might not be certain when I can make it to the Philippines, but if I ever visit there I will be sure to remember between January to May!

Thank you @littlenewthings You better not missed the Philippines on your next travel. ^^

Great tips for traveling @dawnsheree = ). I have never been to the Philippines, but I would give anything to visit the city of Cebu.

Cebu is great.(biased viewpoint) lol ^^ You're very welcome and I'm glad you liked it.

okay, so I just need to avoid August and September, right? ^^ Thanks for the tip!

Yep as much as possible. lol

I never thought of visiting Philippines untill I became steemian and saw so many beautiful beaches, happy people and wonderful nature of your country. As for myself, if everything goes as I plan I decided to visit Philippines in next February. What is the average temperature for February? I saw people in swimming suits lying on the beach on February! Is February considered to be winter or summer month in Philippines?

February is dry season. We have a typhoon now though but February is okay. I haven't been to tons of beaches but those I've been to are lovely. 7,107 islands how cant visit them all. ^^

For visitors, just don't forget to bring your umbrella. Can be used both on sunny and rainy day :)

Hahaa good point their @feedingfranzy :) I'm very lazy bringing one. ^^

True indeed for most of us. :p

When does Phillipines take the look of a tropical paradise as shown in movies??

Hmmm I think that would be around April to May. ^^

Great advice. My question is, how do you hold up with all those weather changes and typhoons? Im curious as to how the structures of the buildings are different to what we have here, as there must be something different so to withstand such high winds and all that rain.

It's okay foxy. ^^ so far we're good right now. :)

Once my ex girlfriend traveled there and caught a Typhoon... worst travel of her life :D

So, I would say this is important info :D

Must have been a pretty bad one . Thankies^^
