Traveling is something that I have yearned since I was young. My travel adventures started four years ago when I met people who have the same passion as me. If it weren’t for them, I would have been stuck with my job and wallow myself over regrets and unhappiness for not being able to do the things that I love.

I used to think that I don’t have enough money to do so but they proved me wrong. Especially Paowee, they are our “Travel Managers” as we all say. They are the ones who will find a way to make our travel experience cheaper but still have fun at the same time.

Budget Travel Tips:

For those who haven’t started traveling here are my top three Budget Travel Tips that I’d like to share with you so you don’t have to spend a lot when traveling.

Transportation Deals

This is where you can save most when traveling. As long as you know how to go around these you’ll definitely save a lot on your travels.

  • Find Promo-fares - Airlines usually have promo fares on holidays in your area/country. Better get ready to go to the website, sometimes it crashes because there are a lot of people getting into the site and waiting for the promos like you.
  • Travel light - You don’t have to bring your whole house when traveling. By doing so, you have to check in your bags and they charge you for it. You may think that it’s not a big deal but this can affect your overall budget.
  • Public transportation - The most efficient way to go from one place to another is through public transportation. This is very inexpensive and you get the whole feels of the place if. You'll also get to know the crowd and the people of the place you're exploring in.
  • Where to Stay

Best that you travel off-season. You will definitely find cheaper hotels that can fit your budget. You don’t have to stay in a luxurious hotel since you would be out all the time and you’ll waste money paying for more if you can’t even use their amenities. You can try backpacker dorms, this can definitely help your budget.

Disclaimer: There are disadvantages when traveling off season, you won’ t see the site’s beauty and might be useless to go there.

For example, in Bohol the Chocolate Hills should be visited in the Summer in order for you to appreciate and see why it was called such.

    Where to Go

As tempting as it could be, you don’t have to check all the major attractions on the city/town that you are visiting in. How about visiting that city’s/town’s local sites. In this way, you’ll know that place’s history and it’s culture.

Here are a few places that you can check:

  • Local Parks - You’ll just not see monuments and flowers, usually when you visit these places at night, they hold different programs and you’ll get lucky if they have a concert held on that event.
  • Just like when we went to Puerto Princesa, Palawan. It was the city’s fiesta at that time and they tons of food stalls where you can experience and eat their cuisine at a budgeted price.

  • Historical Sites - Usually, these sites are funded and maintained by the government. They only require a small entrance fee to ensure that the place is kept clean and tidy. You’ll travel back in time, you get to know that city/town’s routes on how they came to be. One example that we went to, is Malacanang of the North, the entrance fee is less than 50 pesos and you’ll get to know the Marcus Family, who have been very controversial during the Edsa Revolution. (Will post a blog on this soon).
  • Wildlife Parks- These are also maintained by the government so they’re cheap as well.In Davao, you can visit their Crocodile Park, you’ll get value for the money since they have different programs all throughout the day, like playing tricks with their birds and monkey, crocodile and tiger feeding.

This post is gold for travelers. I really liked this part:

Public transportation - The most efficient way to go from one place to another is through public transportation. This is very inexpensive and you get the whole feels of the place if. You'll also get to know the crowd and the people of the place you're exploring in.

100% agree with that Downy. Enjoy the upvotes!

    Thanks PhiPhi^^

Traveling is the big one. I actually took a bus once from San Antonio to Houston Texas and cut my transportation cost by 70+% compared to a flight.

@thedfsadvisor glad to see you here. I saw you at the discord. Thanks for dropping by.

Some good tips, I end up traveling off season a lot. Less people is too much of a plus to give up. I guess for the other thing missed we'd just have to use our imagination and the internet ;)

@eonwarped Yes, I feel you. It's nice to do both though. Go to the scenic destinations and then have some chillaxing time as well. :)

    @surpassinggoogle thanks for dropping by.
