Beyond Bitcoin hangouts enable everyone's voice to be heard--Steemit lets the community vote on our Top Guests!
I have decided to extend this trial run for announcing hangouts in a way that gives everyone an incentive to promote our events and themselves, their projects and alliances that germinate in this very hangout community. So until further notice if you want to be covered in beyond bitcoin hangouts in any serious way, we will be asking for you to upvote this post, RSVP and give upvotes to other projects/topics you find valuable.
How to get Coverage of your Project
Post to this and future Hangout Announcements telling us if you are going to be there and what project/topic you would like to cover with the Beyond Bitcoin Community. The highest voted project/topics at the start of the hangout every Friday @ 10am EST will be covered first, followed 2nd highest, 3rd highest...etc in sequence from highest to lowest.
How much time will we have?
Hangouts will be at least 45 minutes long, but depending on attendance and projects/topics to be covered may last up to 2 hours. Given this, we will try to be as flexible with guest speakers as possible, but will be forced to limit the number covered in any hangout to 10. This should enable us to at least let people speak/take questions for 10-12 minutes each.
Is coverage all I get?
No. You also get the opportunity to post links relevant to your projects, steemit posts/updates about your project and have those links posted to soundcloud and the steemit thread where the hangout is posted.
We might even be willing to promote good projects we cover on twitter and steemit!
Is any topic off Limits?
Yes. We reserve the right to learn from the newest trickster trolling steemit consistently searching for way to insert chaos into the equation and devise future strategies for negating these. Naturally if these efforts become ham-fisted attempts at shutting down free speech in honest conversations, the audience will hold us accountable.
But with that said....pretty much anything can be covered--even up to and including current events. However, I personally will only be voting up stories that touch the blockchain in some way shape or form and will be asking the community to downvote absolute Rubbish! ;)

Thanks man. I kind of felt like I went overboard last week, but there's so much going on its hard to cover everything in 2 hours. I'm just trying to get people pumped up so maybe they will be motivated to come on Beyond Bitcoin and talk about their projects too. The bigger the crowd, the better the show!
BitShares Munich CEO will announce more details about their upcoming crowdfunding plans and the start of BlockPay. I also want to talk about the next potential steps with the BitShares.org website, and how we can create the best potential mockup.

Thanks @d3m0t3x! Dan Larimer told us in these very hangouts that Steem was in large part because of beyond bitcoin hangouts. So you are obviously seeing some of the same stuff he seemed to :)
As for being disrespectful. How so? It looked to me like comments that often get autoposted to the thread by bots. Since I am trying my best to help the platform, I am also trying my best (at a very early stage and without many tools mind you) to keep from rewarding too many bots. Trust me I don't put down people who speak other languages as their primary one--my wife is filipina and she knows 5 languages! When she apologizes to me for not speaking english well, I laugh and tell her "Then I am glad I don't have to speak any of the other languages you know or I would have to buy you a dozen roses and write an apology note every day for the rest of my life..."
Please do not take offense anyone. When you get to know me I suspect people will not think i'm TOO much of an asshole :D

doesn't really have anything to do with being smart. but you have to admit it does look a bit like a generic statement that bots would send out all over the place.
One thing that sucks about being a mini-whale is that i feel a great sense of responsibility not to upvote things that I feel, if overused, will hurt the ecosystem.
Don't get me wrong, I appreciate it, but it is also alot of responsibility (at least i perceive it as such).

I just figured out that due to the timezones, your hangout is right in the middle of my working hours. So unless I take every Friday afternoon off, I'll be unable to join. Maybe 2 or 3 times a year, during holidays. :(
