Beat Battle League: Week #3 Results
Seven (7) epic entries from Steemit producers made up the first week of the Beat Battle League. Judging and supporting the Beat Battle with their time & resources are: @chiefmappster , @jphenderson , @vandigital , @enginewitty , and @derekmiller.
Remember entries are judged on: Sound Quality, Technicality, and Creativity.
And don’t forget the standings are updated at http://www.beatbattleleague.com/ so that everyone involved in the league can see where each person ranks. The rankings are updated to reflect this week's results. As you can see some new members to the League has spiced things up.
At the end of the season the champion will earn a championship belt for the efforts. It is just another way to show that this Steemit music community is real and thriving.
Also, the team behind @buildawhale has donated so graciously bonus votes on all entries apart of the Beat Battle League.
This takes the long term benefits of the Beat Battle League members to a whole new level.
Now every Beat Battle Entry will be available for nomination for inclusion in the Curation Digest because every entry will be @buildawhale -ed.
@sidibeats entry this week made it into the Curation Digest giving him additional recognition and rewards. Link at end of post.
This only adds to The aim of the Beat Battle League which is to highlight and showcase the talents of the music producers, beat makers, and sound engineers of Steemit with the goal of providing additional recognition and rewards for these hard-working Steemians.
FIRST PLACE WINNER: @seveaux with an average of 4.83 from across the judging panel winning 25 SBD and 65 Whaleshares
Man o man I woke up a certain type of way and this beat erased that shit completely. By the time the beat elevated at 1:29, my mood was upbeat and happy. Thank you so much for this. This is this power of positive up tempo music. It can inspire, real positive change in people
I love how this is some parts spacey, parts EDM, and part Acoustic all adding up to an absolutely banger of a beat. It was 4:54 long and shit we still wished it was longer ;)
1:26 and 3:11 are my favorite parts of this man. Whatever that combo is it takes the beat to the next NEXT level and holy shit my mood as well. Also love that fake drop around :53 it took me by surprise every time I listen to the beat. I would be getting read for that drop and then nope have to wait a little bit longer. Love that, keeps the audience engaged.
I personally had you judged with 5.0 across the board. This beat for me is what I love about music production. You can create such an atmosphere for change in your beats and man you might have saved me today. Have a lot to do and wasn’t feeling up to for whatever reason and by listening to this beat three times man o man am I ready to dominate the day. Thank you so freakin much for this.

@sidibeat this was the most comprehensive posts we have ever seen in the Steemit music community. @instrumentals kills his posts but this post and entry has every thing we can hope for. You already have a vision for the beat in mind with lyrics in two languages provided. You include the ENTIRE beat making process with such epic visuals that actually provide critical information to music producers.

Not to mention how freakin hilarious you are both in your intro (a first in the Beat Battle League) and the way you write. We really hope you stick around in the League because you can inspire so much real, positive change its wild.
Some judges had you number one and some had you number two, so that shows you how obvious and amazing your skill, talent, and personality is.
The funny thing about comprehensive, epic posts is after you read them now you legit expect the best beat you have ever heard on this planet to appear. And shit you did not disappoint but I wonder if by you setting that expectation so high that it affected judging. Not a bad problem at all my friend because as you can see it was legit .08 points different. How I usually counter is under-promise, over-deliver : ) But more of a long-term macro recommendation to use in your life.

The sound quality and technicality are top notch and the feedback from the judges was more sounds. Maybe a few more sounds to mind fuck us : )
I had to listen to this beat so many times because it put me in such a happy mood. To when times were simpler.
Thank you so much this has rapidly becoming one of my favorite beats to play around the house and when I am traveling.

FOURTH PLACE WINNER: @verbal-d with an average of 4.5 losing the tiebreaker but winning 4 SBD and 30 Whaleshares
This is love @verbal-d.
All this beat needs is a beautiful vocalist or two and this is an upbeat song that could be played at weddings and celebrations.
It keeps you upbeat and engaged al the way through and giving you a little reason to smile while doing it.
O wee I love those instruments at 1:03, 2:09, and 3:23 changed it up a little bit and gave my ears almost a refresher getting them ready for what is to come.
The judges ranked your sound quality the highest, especially in headphones. Creativity was the lowest and maybe it is relative to how many different sounds were in this week’s entry. It is also hard to do it on a beat like this. Maybe add a harpist or some random hip-hop or EDM sound to really switch it up.

Wow @hfigueroa I had to listen to this beat several times because while I was listening to it it made me feel like I was reliving an old happy memory. Some distant simpler happy time. How did you do this?
I have no idea why, but this melody puts me in a semi-conscious state. Kind of like positive deju-vu, that I don’t want to leave.
Had you scored as Sound Quality and Technicality 4.5 with Creativity being a 3.5. The other judges’ scored varied but as you can see you are right there with the bunch. I would maybe add a few more layers to really take this next beat to the next level.

The sounds man. Yes the sounds : ) They make my ears so happy and raise my vibrations in such an epic way. This deserves to be on a video game or movie. The flow of the beat is so smooth and the sounds you use to accent and reinforce your message are top notch.

What you did with this beat by intertwining epic sounds and keeping an uptempo BPM is such a hard task to do. And it is why beats and tracks used in video games and movies are paid so nicely.
I just envision a character in a game laughing his ass off destroying shit while listening to this beat. Just dominating the game through and through.
I had you scored 4 across the board and the judges scored varied but rested on that average. Everyone enjoyed the tempo and it is an ideal beat for a video game and/or movie.

Honorable Mention: @ehzi-dehve with an average of 3.83 points
This is one of the most creative beats we have seen in the Beat Battle League. The voice and the various sounds really came together to create an unique vibe. It is one of those love or hate vibes. And I think that is the reason for the wide scale in your scores.
Had you scored 3.5 for Sound Quality, 3.5 for Technicality, and 4.5 for Creativity. Although you did not have too many sounds, the sounds you chose were epic. Our advice is to add more layers and more instruments to stop the repetitive nature of this beat. It’s epic sounds that you are repeating but it puts the listener’s ears in a weird state
I personally loved the direction you went with this theme and I hope you stick around because you have such epic potential. You just have to unleash it. Thanks again for all the time and effort you put into making this beat. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to it multiple times.

Thanks for the feedback and Hosting such a fun battle. Considering I'm 2 weeks behind the competition and I made my beat the day of the deadline this time around, I'm biting at the bit to get started on week 4. Maybe I'lll even go back and make beats for week one and two just for fun haha.
